Report of the Trustees - continued

We have attracted a number of new Friends during the course of the year. We find that these are, very often, people who have loved ones in the churchyard. They realise that it is only through our cutting of the grass, which allows access to graves and, particularly, the very small remembrance tablets that these remain visible. They would soon be lost if we stopped the mowing. Ifyou know of anyone who hasa loved one in the churchyard and is not yet a Friend, do please try and encourage them to join us and contribute to such a worthwhile cause. Thank you.

We say goodbye to Bob Peeler who has been a Trustee since 2019 and thank him for his support and wise counsel over the years. This has been very much appreciated.

We need more Trustees. Would you consider becoming a Trustee? You would be joining a very successful little local charity which has made, and will continue to make, a real difference. It is not onerous with just three or four Trustees’ meetings a year. Please contact Mo Atkins on 07799 136 894 or moatkinsS@gmail.com ifyou want to consider this. It would be good to hear from you!

As I have stood down as Chairman after the nine years since Friends was created as a charity in 2016, can I please say a heartfelt farewell and thank you for your unwavering support. You have made a real difference to this vital village asset, and we have even hada bit off fun along the way, so that thank you for that too!

PHILIP TRUETT
