The City of Lichfield Concert Band have enjoyed a full concert programme of ten well attended events. Five of these events were outdoor free concerts reaching out to the wider community, including Lichfield Proms in the park, Beacon Park, Lichfield Market Square, and Happy Mount Park in Morecambe. We maintained and developed further our relationship with other local music groups and venues this year performing at the Coton Centre Tamworth and a local primary school which gave opportunities to reach out to wider and larger audiences including performing with young children. In May we performed at the Garrick theatre Lichfield to another full house. This is a prestigious venue attracting local residents, family and friends. In July the band travelled to Morecambe to perform two concerts including the Winter Gardens Theatre which is a popular theatre to the residents of Morecambe. This was a weekend event and included many social activities for the whole band. Our final concert of the year took place in December at The Lichfield Cathedral, where sadly we said goodbye to our musical director of seventeen years Mr M Vause.
