Report of the trustees for the year ending 31 December 2020

The structure, governance and management of the charity remain as laid out in the application documents submitted to the Charity Commission in December 2016.

The Foundation was established in December 2016 with a small donation of £1000 from Ms C Ledford. The objectives of the charity are as below:

- To Promote humane behaviour towards animals for the public benefit by preventing and relieving suffering of abandoned and mistreated animals, in particular, but not exclusively by:

   - a) The provision of grants of financial assistance to further the charitable work of individuals and animal welfare organisations which provide appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage in such parts of the world as the trustees shall determine.

   - b) Educating the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.

The Board of Trustees must have at least three volunteer trustees. The maximum number of trustees is 12. Trustees are appointed for two year and terms may be renewed indefinitely.

Trustee meetings are conducted over the telephone via conference call and the main order of business is reviewing grant applications and new partnerships with other charities.

The trustees review each funding application to ensure they meet the main criteria:

- Spay/neuter programmes for cats and dogs both in the UK and in Romania (proof of previous successful programmes will be required)

- Animal welfare education programmes in Romania

- Programmes which support pet guardians

- Medical care and aftercare for dogs and cats who are victims of abuse or neglect

- Special projects being undertaken by rescue and rehoming organisations

Roly Poly Animal Foundation does not fund:

- First-time spay/neuter programmes

- Core costs for rescue and rehoming organisations

- Medical care for dogs and cats who are unlikely to be considered adoptable

In the year ending 31 December 2020, Roly Poly Animal Foundation awarded one small grant (£80.00) to Dana Geauca’s rescue and shelter for cats in Romania. This grant was restricted to neutering eight male cats in a single feral colony. Two donations from individuals were received to cover a portion of this grant.
