The Trustees present their report, together with the financial statements, for the period to 31 March 2025. ## **Principal activities** The charity was established to support Talbot House via the Talbot House Association, in Poperinge, Belgium, in accordance with the constitution, as follows: _1. To promote the preservation, conservation and improvement of Talbot House and the Chapel at Poperinge, Belgium for the public benefit._ _2. To advance education in in the religious, religious, humanitarian, historical and architectural significance of Talbot of House and the Chapel at Poperinge, Belgium, in particular by the support and maintenance of the museum._ _3. To advance the Christian religion by promoting the use of Talbot House and the Chapel at Poperinge. Belgium._ ## **Directors** The Trustees in office during the year were: The Reverend Wright Mr Howard Benge (Chair) Mr Gilbert Chalk Mrs Louisa Evans Mr Ian Hussein Mr Colin Kerr Mr Jan Louagie Mr William De Vloo Mr Hussein is Chair of the Talbot House Association (THA), in Belgium. Mr Louagie, Mr De Vloo and the Mrs Louisa Evans are also directors of THA. ## **Trustees ’ responsibilities for the financial statements** Charity Law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial period, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company. In preparing those financial statements, the Trustees are required to: Page 1 - Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently - Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, for safeguarding the assets of the charity and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The Trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the charity legislation with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015). Page 5 ## **THE OLD TALBOT HOUSE FOUNDATION** NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 ## **1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES** ## **Basis of preparation** The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015). ## **Depreciation** From April 2021, IT infrastructure has been depreciated on a straight line basis over 7 years (14%). ## **2 TRUSTEES AND EMPLOYEES** The Trustees did not draw salaries. This transfer corrects the 2021/22 accounting. The debit balance on unrestricted funds of £3,225 relates to the cumulative costs of London fundraising events from 2021 to 2023 inclusive, al of which were classed as unrestricted expenditure. The Trustees will consider whether to transfer this balance to restricted funds, given that, during this period, £5,000 was transferred to the Talbot House Association.
