Pithn Theatre Productions suc￿sSfUllY Fxrt on the pantomime 'Sleeping
Beauty, in February 2023. After a successful event in 2022, Pilton Green
Man Day 2023 VRS cantslled because of an insufficTrent volunteer force.
The three operating sub-wmmittees carry out risk assessments of their
operations and also prepare detailed event management plans as
appropnate. A H&S policy and related procedures were developed in
relation to the management of the Manning's Pit land and are being
reviewed annually.

such ways as the trustees may from time to time decide. To advance

arts and advancement of educats.on in the history of Pilton, primarily but

The trustees usually meet four times a year to ensure that the
organisats.on of the Pilton Green Man Day, the Pilton Panto, and the
Friends of Manning's Pit are satisfactory and to consider applications for

community organisations, charities, groups and individuals to carry out
projects vthich viill benefit the people of Pilton. The geogrdphical area of
Pilton covers the area approximately from the ND District Hospital to
Potting￿ and from Bradrford to RaleKJh and Yeo Vale and there is a
resident population of ar0￿d 5.OCrf).

land kTh)vm k)cally as Manning's Pit. In connection with this the CIO is
also registered wth HMRC to enable the collection of Gift Aid on monies

Bradrfoyd Pockel Garden
In Odober 2021 an award of £4￿ was m￿je to the 'Bradiford and Pilton in
Bloom. SUl￿coMmittee of Ihe'Bamstaple ill Bloom. organisation lo make
improvements lo a18psed, communrty ga￿len area in Bradiford. The proje
has added tAanters and rabsed beds. shnjbs, perenniaLs and herbs and
replac&1 thIpF1￿s WFth a lawn. This has created a ￿eaSant. calm area for ijse
by the c(Mnmunity and has generated enough interEst lo fund all the work
carried out so far. The volunteerteam. now known as the Pilton & Bradiford
CommunTiy Gardens, was actually paid the £400 grant during 2023 to cover
repairs to pawng and fen￿.
Bamy Hogs- Provisi(￿ of Hedgehog Shed
An award of £500 was male in July 2023 to knz Smith of Bamy Hogs, a newly-
fom)ed hedgehco protedion group in Bamstaple. as a ￿ntribUtIOn to the
purchase of a new shed for housirKJ injured and orphaned hedgehogs before
they are released back inlo the wild following reL￿very.
Award for Replacement Sheltevs for 12th ND (Pillon) Scouts
An award of £689.64 was made to the 12th North Devon IPitton) Scouls as 8
contribution towards the wrchase of three new shehertents to replace time-
exKxred shelters from the 1980s and 1990$. The shetters provide them V￿th
protedion fr(#n Ihe elements and enables sco￿l￿g a(aivities to be offered to
youiYJ people even vthen the weather is thaHengiThJ.
Award for School Trip to Amigos Fann in Uganda in October 2024
An awa￿ of £250 was in sertemt￿r 2023 to Chatlotte Jones towards
her vistt to the Amigo>supw)rted Kira Fam in Uganda in October 2024 for
which she has to f8ise £3.000. Vthile visrting, Charlotte wll leam about the
work on the la￿. helting out wilh it le8miNJ about the impact that rt has
on the many vulneratde INes.

During 2023, the CIO made a net loss of (£352). This was made up from
a net loss of (£2,287) related to Ihe Gr￿n Man Day and its various
activities and awards. partly offset by net £1.935 income related to the
Manning's Pit LarKI.
Proceeds from holding the Pilton Green Man Day (£0), as it was
can￿lled, and the Pilton Panto (£811) being partially offset by £1,840
handed out in Grants and other Unavoidab￿ fees such as insurance and
storage.
ExFÉnditure on the managem￿1 of Manning's Ptt was £627 in 2023, land
income- primarily from Grazing fees - was £2.562
As at 31st Cecembw 2023 the Pilton Green Man had a bank balan￿ of
£12,443 and the Manning pit aco)unt had £6,210 for a totsl CIO cash
holding of £18,653.
There were no ¢JutstaThJirKJ liabilities at the end of the year. and the CIO
