I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charFty (Ihe Trust.) for the year ended 3111212020.
Responsibilities and As the chartty trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation
basis of report of the accounts in accordance wrth the requirements of the Charities Act
2011 (Yhe Acr).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's a￿￿unt$ carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have fallowed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confim that no material matters have
come to my attention {other than that disclosed below ') in connection with
the examination which gtves me cause to believe that in, any material
respect:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of
the Act or
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records

2020. Before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Pilton Green Man Day

To promote good citvzenship for the public benefit by facilitating the
developrnent of a volunteer for￿ to assist the community, in particular
but not exclusive￿ those members of the community who are in need, in
such ways as the tnjslees may from lime to time decide. To advance
such Charrtab￿ purposes {according lo the law of England and Wales) as
the trustees see frt, in particular, but not limtled to, the promotion of Ihe
arts and advan￿rnent of education in the history of Pilton, primarily but

The trustees usually meet four times a year to ensure that the
organisation ofthe Pl￿On Green Man Day, the Pilton Panto and
fijndraising by the Friends of Manning's Ptt are satisfactory and to
consKJer applications for awards and the completion reports from projects
to which awards have been made.
We confirm that the trustees have had regard to the Charity
Commission's guidance on public benefrt.
Additional detalls of objectives and activities (Optional Inforniation)
The charitable objecltves are met by making small grants available to
communty organisations, charities, groups and individuals to carry out
projects which wll tsenefrt the people of Pilton. The geographical are2 of
Pitton covers the area approximatety from the ND District Hospital to
Pottington and from Bradrford to RaleiJh and Yeo Vale and there is a
resident population of around 5,000.

Since October 2019 the Trustees have also supported the raising of
lunds by the Friends of Manning's Pit Sub-committee forthe possible
pu￿hase for the community of 21 acres of land in Pitton known as
Manning's Pit. In connection wtth this the CIO also registered with
HMRC to enable the collection of Gift Aid on monies donated.

Remodial Work on the Bells of St Mary's Church
An awar¢J of £500 was made lo the Bellringers of Sl Mary's Church. Pillon.
tthvards essential ￿paIrS lo the bdl frame which is in need of deaning and
com)sion protection. This will cost a total of £18.000 Nthich is being raised by
the bellringers who are also going to provide labour lo reduce the cost from
£30,000. This b￿rk wll put the Wls into first dass condition so that, wth
normal ongoing maintenar1￿, they should seNe Pillon Parish well for many
years to Coyne before major %%rJrk is again required. The last time work was
done on the bells was in 1*9-70 when one was removed for restoration
although no bells will be rwnoved this time. If the work were not to be carried
out. the bdls wll eventually have to ￿se being rung for safety reasons and
would rapidly L*ccffie part of history.
Award to Kai Chappell
An avrdrd of £2￿ to help with the cost of a tn"p to lfjra Fami, Uganda, was also
approved in 2020. Kai Chappell, Iwes in Pilton. was expecting lo travel to
Kira Farm, near Kampala. Uganda. during the vistt of the group from Pillon
Community College in OCto￿r 2020. lfjra Fam is a deVelop￿ent for young
people coming fr(xn deprived and at￿S￿e backgrounds, %thich leaches them
life and career th"Ils.
Friend$ of Manning's Pil Campaign
During 2020. £158,836 vra5 raised towards the Friends of Manning's Pil
Campaign to 'Buy Manning's Pit. for the ¢¢xnmunity.
The Out¢omes of the Pending Awards
Because of the COMD-19 pandemic the work on the Bells of St Mary's Church
ds Postponed and is now expected lo be carried out in 2021.
For the same reason. Kai Chappell's trip to Uganda has been postponed.

The reserves policy of Ihe CIO is to hold a sum equivalent to the loss
which might be incu￿ed in a worse case of coMp￿te washout of the
Pition Green Man Day, about £8,1￿0.

The charity's only source of funds for grant awards in 2020 was the profit
of £631 made by Pilton Theatre Productions in February. There was no
Pilton Green Man Day.
There have been no community awards within or related to Pilton in 2020
because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duting 2020, the Friends of Manning's Pit Sub-committee raised
£158.836 toward5 the possible purchase of Manning's Pit. However, the
majority of this money would have to be refunded to donors rf the ullimate.
