This has been a very difficult year for the charity with the Trustees dogged by illness including COVID. Dr Teixeira has retired as a Trustee as she has now retired from her post as Consultant Dermatologist and left the NHS. She has now moved to Miami, USA and has taken a course in catering. A meeting of the Trustees on 7th June 2022 in London, thanked Dr Teixeira for her hard work over the years and wished her well for the future. We also discussed the possible recruitment of further Trustees and drew up a short list.
We have continued to answer question posed to the Charity web site from a number of patients and to help them find the best treatment for their acne or rosacea. We have also developed a training program, in collaboration with Skinmed Ltd for the treatment of acne scarring. This is almost never provided by NHS and few private practitioners have the necessary skills to help patients with disfiguring scarring resulting from acne.
Our plans for the coming year are to employ a person to facilitate the web site and particular to develop treatment updates and to answer blogs. We hope to encourage more interest in the Charity by developing contact with the media.
