THE FRAMLINGHAM FOUNDATION TRUST TIA THE ED SHEERAN SUFFOLK MUSIC FOUNDATION TRUSTEES, REPORT (INCLUDING DIRECTORS, REPORT) (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 Achievements and performance Signilicant activities and achievements against objeclives Further grants were given to Thomas Mills High School, lo continue to provide students and leachers with top class learning reSoUr￿s. The main focus of this year's increased grant has been the refurbishment of the changing rooms. Both areas were re-designed and re-fitted improving the accessibility, increasing the practical space and rebuilding shower and changing areas lo create a variety of options for users. New lighting and repairs to the heating and ventilation systems have brought the Iwo areas up lo a higher standard generally. This has been greatly appreciated by pupils, staff and the wider communily who use our facililies via our Sports Centre. Alongside this we have implemented a more vigorous maintenance programme for Ihe Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). This is coming lo the end of its practical life but this programme is designed to maximise this until such time as we can replace il- and may be a project we approach the Foundation about. Our planned idea of creating a covered space has been held back awaiting the potential wider development of that part of the school with an Arts facility of some form. We are looking forward to further discussion on Ihis and realing something special. Instead, we have invested in our exisling facilities to ensure they are kept at a high standard and improved where possible. This ranges from lighling in the PerformancelDrama sludio, repairs and improvements lo the Fitness suite, improved heating lo Sports Hall 2 etc. We have also invested in maintenance and upgrades to the Music department Mac suite- an immensely important asset lo the department and school particularly now it is used in conjunction with the Gingerbread Studios. The main event of the year for the school was the Anniversary Gala Concert at Snape Maltings - an amazing event which withoul the support of the Foundation and contributors, would not have been possible. It gained national press and recognition of the school's special ethos which supports Ihe Arts at a lime when they have been sidelined or abandoned in many other schools. The concert look place just as Ed published his open letter to the Govemmenl aboul the importance of the Arts within the curriculum. The Art department continues to thrive and as a result of the grant has been able to continue trips and events otherwise not available, offering exceptional artistic opportunities to our pupils. The ambition of the staff is wonderfully demonslraled by making use of a local art gallery to display this yearfs exam work, both for moderation and public display, thus truly involving the school within the local community. Richard Hanley - Director of Music "l am very excited to be able to continue the incredible legacy of music-making at Thomas Mills, so fimily established by Richard Hanley. We are so privileged to have Ihe amazing Gingerbread Studios, with cutting-edge lechnology to rival any professional sludio. l am looking forward to ensuring this facility is used to its full potential. I also hope lo further expand the musical opportunities available lo our pupils, particularly in music produclion and popular music. Wilh such generous financial support, we can continue lo make Thomas Mills a centre of musical excellence in Suffolk.. Anna Ducker- Director of Music "We are hopeful that a new govemmenl returns focus onlo the arts more widely and Thomas Mills is well placed to be ahead of that curve thanks lo the support of the Foundation. Imagination is not just about the arts.. the skills both art and music offer in developing our pupils is hugely impadful. Nikki Scholl - Head of Art The Framlingham Foundation support forThomas Mills High School & Sixth Form has created a unique opportunity for its pupils and we are committed to using Ihis unparalleled opportunity to ensure all our pupils benefit on Iheir learning journey with us.

THE FRAMLINGHAM FOUNDATION TRUST T/A THE ED SHEERAN SUFFOLK MUSIC FOUNDATION INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE FRAMLINGHAM FOUNDATION TRUST

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of The Framlingham Foundation Trust (the charity) for the year ended 31 December 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the trustees of the charity (and also its directors for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.

Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006 and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act 2011.

Independent examiner's statement

Since the charity’s gross income exceeded £250,000, the independent examiner must be a member of a body listed in section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. I confirm that I am qualified to undertake the examination because I am a member of ACCA, which is one of the listed bodies.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
