**Objects:** TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION AND WELFARE OF BATS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:WORKING WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA COVERED BY DURHAM BAT GROUP, THAT IS PRIMARILY THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE RIVERS TEES AND TYNE, IN PROVIDING PRACTICAL ADVICE AND HELP TO ANY INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANISATION WITH REGARD TO BATS;EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT BATS BY MEANS OF PUBLIC TALKS, BAT WALKS, TALKS TO SCHOOL GROUPS ETC., AND TO ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN BAT RELATED ACTIVITIES;STUDYING BATS IN ORDER TO FURTHER UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR BIOLOGY AND ECOLOGY; ANDWORKING WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS SHARING SIMILAR AIMS.

**Activities:** Durham Bat Group promotes the conservation and welfare of bats within the vice-county of Durham, including the provision of  advice and help to the public with regard to bats, education of the public about bats by means of  talks, bat walks, talks to school groups etc., encouragement of community participation in bat related activities, and study of bats to improve understanding of their biology..
