**The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the year to 31[st] March 2021.**
## Purposes and Objectives
Our God Given Mission (OGGM), is a Christian Charity driven by the goal to help young adults discover Jesus and equip them to make Him known. This is built on the biblical instruction of going out into all the world and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to all creation! Gospel simply means good news. OGGM’s primary and driving purpose is to share this good news with as many people that will listen, whilst mobilising others to do the same. OGGM shares this ‘good’ news, which is love and peace, by carrying out religious devotional acts, missionary and outreach work and by raising awareness and understanding about Jesus Christ and his message of Love.
## **Our objectives are to:**
- Help the world know the gospel and preach the ‘good news’ the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Publish and release materials that help the public understand the message and the teachings of Jesus Christ
- Raise awareness about the primary teaching of Jesus, spreading His love and peace to the public
## Our Strategy
Since 2014, we have successfully engaged thousands of lives with the gospel in communities not typically reached, including young working professionals and the black community in the UK.
We deliver our objectives through a variety of channels and platforms.
- We share the gospel with over 1,000 people weekly through online articles and media content
- We have an active community of over 3,000 people
- To date, we have reached over 50,000 people with the gospel
Our work sits firmly within categories of evangelism, discipleship and community engagement.

## **On Evangelism**
- Each year we organise a missions trip to another country. In the last 5 years we have sent over 30 young adults to Spain on short term missions trips - visiting the homeless and sharing the good news of Christ with the local population there. This has been a catalyst in the maturity of faith and personal ministries for many of the attendees.
- We facilitate 'classroom', an online taught courses platform, where we train young adults in evangelism and apologetics, helping them spread the gospel in their workplaces. To date over 300 people have been through our courses. At the end of the course, they are equipped to share the gospel (https://www.ourgodgivenmission.com/classroom/)
- We run 'Heads Up' a network of small groups (10 - 30) across the United Kingdom where young people met weekly to study the bible and share the gospel in their local neighbourhoods. To date, more than 400 have joined a small group. More information: (headsup.ourgodgivenmission.com)
- We have established a successful online editorial and communications where our articles and videos have high levels of engagement. We regularly produce material like our award-winning podcast 'On The Table' which was listed as one of the top 100 Christian podcasts in the world this year. We tackle relevant and challenging topics that are of importance to our target demographic.
_These are a selection of active projects that we use to help people discover Jesus and also to equip them to share the good news with other people. Through these three projects, we have identified over 35 people have come to faith._
## **On community engagement**
- Every year, we host MCOG (My Celebration of Gospel) a night of live Gospel music in bars across the United Kingdom. We use the night to celebrate Gospel but also to introduce onlookers to the Gospel message and to engage them with the music medium. To date over 500 people have attended our MCOG nights and many conversations about Jesus have been started over the music
- We host 'Your Q,' a live panel event which we take on tour to colleges/universities across the United Kingdom. During the shows, audiences of 200+ get a chance to ask questions about the Christian faith guided by Christian leaders and local church pastors. Young people enjoy the open and authentic atmosphere we create. To date, we have held over 23 shows with an average audience of 100 at each show.

_These are a selection of our active projects. Community engagement is our lifeblood. We have been working directly with people to do homeless outreaches and street evangelism since we started in 2014._
## **On Discipleship**
- We host yearly retreats for 150+ delegates. Over 5 days we help delegates deepen their faith and mature in their understanding of the word. Through seminars, keynote addresses and fellowship, we help young people grow more confident in navigating life’s difficulties and sharing the gospel.
- We are passionate about the local church and so across all our projects, we help young people find churches where they can be rooted and known further aiding their discipleship.
Our work is unique.
OGGM is strongly positioned to bring hope to a generation that will be asking many questions and looking for answers in the midst and aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis. We have a respected and trusted voice among millennials, particularly black and minority ethnic millennials (black).

## Activities and Achievements for the financial period
## **How do our activities provide a benefit for the public?**
OGGM provides a wide range of activities and resources in pursuance of its charitable aims. The trustees consider that these activities, summarised below, provide benefits both to those who subscribe to the Christian faith, and the wider community.
## **EVENTS**
## **Gospel In A Broken World**
In light of the pandemic and the global outrage following the killing of George Floyd, OGGM curated

and facilitated a 5 day digital event to answer the question: What does the Gospel have to offer a broken world?
We wanted the event to be a timestamp for OGGM which serves as a definitive resource that speaks to the externalities created by COVID and injustice more broadly. We invited speakers to deliver messages relevant for this generation and the next, covering themes such as the issue of pain, building a living hope, dealing with loss, praying through the darkness and more.
## **EDITORIAL**
## **ONLINE ARTICLES**
OGGM has built a strong catalogue of thought provoking online articles to inspire and encourage any members of the general public who are seeking to know more about the message of Jesus. These resources provide great benefit to those who do not have access to such materials in their local church or community. OGGM also invites volunteers to write articles, in so doing encouraging others to contribute to the work of the charity. Topics have included:
- Bouncing back from failure
- Am I pretty enough?
- The opposite of faith is not doubt
- Why am I suffering?
- Learning to forgive
## **MISSIONS PROJECT TO TENERIFE**
Our God Given Missionary Trip to Tenerife in October 2020 was dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During the missionary trip, we read the scriptures, prayed and shared personal testimonies with people in the southern region of Tenerife who felt their lives had lost purpose. We believe the name of Jesus has the power to change hearts and minds as well as give hope where guilt, shame and hurt reside. Our team of volunteers joined a local church in Los Santos, who have been involved in the missionary work for over 13 years. The trip was largely successful and we intend to continue this partnership for years to come.
## Financial Review
The accounts have been drawn up on a receipts and payments basis.
As at 31/03/21 OGGM held £11,764 of total funds available in its account. The key movements are available in the receipts and payments summary for the financial period of this report.
The trustees have reviewed the reserves of the charity, and their policy is to hold enough funds to meet 24 months of operating costs of the charity.
## Trusteeship
## **Recruitment and appointment of trustees**
The existing trustees are responsible for identifying and selecting new trustees to join the

organisation. In selecting new trustees we seek to identify individuals who have shown interest in the advancement of the gospel message, and volunteer their efforts by leading on projects which the charity is pursuing. Potential trustees are asked to complete an application form expressing why they would be interested in becoming a trustee. Once they have progressed beyond this stage, they are interviewed by current trustees. This process allows the charity to consider the person’s eligibility, competence, and skills, to ensure they are suitable for the available role.
## **Induction and training of trustees**
New trustees are introduced to their role and provided with copies of the constitution and a guide to the policies and procedures adopted by our charity. A number of publications from the Charity Commission are provided to the trustee including the guidance on charities providing public benefit, and the advancement of religion for the public benefit. Existing trustees set up time to meet with the new trustee and provide an overview of the main projects the charity is working on. Initially, new trustees will assist in these projects and tasks. Once they have developed the experience they then lead on these projects.

## **Report of the Independent Examiner to the Trustees of Our God Given Mission**
I report on the accounts of Our God Given Mission for the year ended 31 March 2021, set out on pages 1 and 2.
This report is made solely to the Trustees in accordance with section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act). My independent examination has been undertaken so that I might state to the Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by the law, I do not accept responsibility to anyone other than the Trustees for my independent examination, for this report, or the opinions I have formed.
## **RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER**
The Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this period (under section 144(2) of the Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:
- Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Act);
- To follow the procedures laid down in the General Direction given
- by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act); and
- To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT**
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the church as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
