## **Section D: Achievements and Performance**

During the reporting year, Refugee Aid Network (RAN) successfully sustained its operations through a combination of individual donations and regular support from dedicated contributors. The charity focused its efforts on supporting displaced individuals and vulnerable children through established partner organisations.

## _**Key achievements include:**_

Continued Self Funded Support Trips: to French refugee camps.

Online Fundraising via JustGiving, CAF and direct payments, with notable peaks in: December 2023 (£1,592)

April 2024 (£5,979)

## _**Targeted Humanitarian Support:**_

A total of £17,200 was granted across four separate payments to our Uk Charity partners, Ihsan for Children, supporting their humanitarian programmes in Palestine.

- £5,000 in December 2023

- £3,500 in February 2024

- £2,500 in March 2024

- £6,200 in April 2024

In November 2023, RAN donated £2,797 to Eurorelief Hella, providing emergency support in line with our charitable objectives. We supported their work with victims of the Turkish earthquake.

Continued voluntary casework support for Afghan refugees with asylum status. The trustees unanimously voted to give a smaller grant of £100 an Afghan refugee in January 2024, contributing to alleviation of his crisis situation.

## _**Income Growth & Fund Distribution:**_

Overall income for the year totalled approximately £15,005, and total charitable expenditure reached £20,594, reflecting RAN’s commitment to quickly deploying funds where they are most needed.

These activities demonstrate the charity’s responsiveness, its ability to maintain public engagement through fundraising, and its commitment to directly supporting organisations working with vulnerable populations. Despite ending the year with a deficit, trustees consider this acceptable in the context of delivering maximum impact in a time of humanitarian need.

## **Section E: Financial Review**

Reserves policy: Unrestricted donations are held in reserve for future humanitarian interventions and are carried over and spent exclusively on aid in the subsequent year.

________________________________________________________

Funds materially in deficit: None

________________________________________________________

Further financial review: The charity has no liabilities or paid staff. All work is carried out by volunteers and projects are selected after careful due diligence.

________________________________________________________

The Charity remains focused on identifying high-impact interventions through trusted partners in crisis-affected regions. Trustees have decided not to conduct direct interventions on behalf of RAN as they have in the past – but to continue to identify – fundraise and support partners through their project specific activities. We conduct thorough due diligence checks on everyone with whom we work and will continue to operate in this way, unless our presence on site offers added value.
