Status
Home-slart Bimiingham Consortium was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and not having a
share capital under the Companies Act 1985 on 15" August 2015 and registered as a charity on 16￿ March
2016
The Company was established under a Memorandum of Association which estsblished the objects and powers
of the charitable company and is governed under its Articles of Association. Under those Articles, the members
of the Trustee Board are elected al the Annual General Meeting.

The charitable company has no share capital and the members of the board of trustees have no interest in its
surplus or assets and re￿1ve no remuneration.
Appointment of Trustees
Trustees are appointed al the Annual General Meeting and must consist of a minimum of 4 trustees and not
more than 12 individuals. The trustees may co-opt any person duly qualified to be appointed as a trustee bul
will only hold office until the next Annual General meeting. In accordance with the charitable company's Articles
of Association, one third of the Trustees will rekn're by rolation and offer themselves for re-election at the Annual
General Meeting.

Report of the Trustees for the period ended 31 March 2024
The Truslees present their report and examined financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March
2024. The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities" {FRS 1021 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of
the charity.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out in notes to the
accounts and comply with the ch8rily's governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK published 16 July 2014, as amended in
Bulletin 1.

to safeguard, protect and presetve the good health, both mental and physical of children and parents of
children.,
to prevent cruelly to or maltreatment of children;
to relieve sickness. poverty and need amongst children and parents of childr8n',

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial slalemenls in
accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards {Uniled Kingdom Generally
Accepted Accounting Practi￿).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires trustees lo prepare financial statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources
and
selected suitable accounling policies and apply them consislenlly.,

The truslees are responsible for maintaining proper 8ccounling records which disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable them to ensure the financial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the
provisions of the trust deed. The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable
company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.
This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006
relating to small companies.

The directors have taken advantage of the Cornpanies Act 2006 in not having these accounts audited under
Section 477111. No members have required the company lo obtain an audit of ils accounts for the year in
question in accordance with section 476.
The directors acknowledge their rgsponsibilili8s for ensuring Ihat the company keeps accounting records which
comply with s38E and s387 of the Companies Act 2006 and for preparing accounts which give a true and fair view
of the stale of affairs of the company as al 31 March 2023 and of ils profil for the year then ended in accordance
with the requirements of s396 and which comply with the requirements of the Act relab'ng to the accounts so far as
applicable lo the company.
These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions applicable lo companies subject to
the small company's regime.

(a)
Basis of preparation
The charity Gonstitutes a public benefit as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements have
been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK IFRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 as
amended by Bulletin 1, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK (FRS 1021, the
Charities act 2011, the Companies Act 2006 and UK Generally Accepted Practice as it applies
from 1 January 2015.
The fi'nancial statements are prepared on a going concern basis under the historic Gonvention,
modified to include certain items at fair value. The financial statements are prepared in sterling
which is the functional currency of the Gharity and rounded to the nearest £.
The significant policies applied in the preparation of these financial statements are set out
below. These policies have been consistently applied to all years presented unless othe￿iSe
stated.
(b)
Company status
The charity is a company limited by guarantee. The members of the company are drawn from
individuals who have an interest in the work of the Organisation. In the event of the charity
being wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited to £1 per member of the
charity.
(c}
Fund accounting
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees
in furtherance of the general objective of the charity and which have not been designated for
other purposes.
Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds thal have been set aside by the trustees for
particular purposes. Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance with
specific restrictions imposed by donors or which have been raised by the charity for particular
purposes.
(d)
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the SOFA when Ihe charity is legally entitled to the
income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
(e)
Resources expended
All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings
that aggregate all costs related to the category.
Fund-raising costs are those incurred in seeking voluntary contributions. Management and
administration costs are those incurred in connection with administration of the charity and
compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts for the year ended 31., March 2024 which are
set out on the following pages.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the company land also its directors for the purpose of company lawl you are
responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act
20061'the 2006 Act'l.
Independent examiners, statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the
examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
l. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the company as required by section 386 of the 2006 Act:
or
2. The accounts do not accord with those records,. or
3. The accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 or the 2006 Act other
than any requirement that the accounts give a 'a true and fair view, which 15 not a matter considered as
part of an independent examination; or
4. The accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement
of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities (applicable to charities preparing
their accounts in accordance with the Financial Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS 1021.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
