support to our membership in navigating
access to dermatology. Waiting lists in
dermatology continue to be extremely long,
and we are concerned that vitiligo patients
are triaged out of secondary care in favour
of other inflammatory skin conditions. We
provided patients with a guide to talking to
your GP about your vitiligo based on the
information provided by the Primary Care
Dermatology Society.
We became part of the Education Sub-
committee at the BAD in this period and
began work on a psychodermatology
project alongside Professor Andrew
Thompson of Cardiff University. The aim of
this is to provide online content to support
patients who are significantly impacted by
their skin condition. This is in the absence
of any national psychodermatology service
for patients.
We continued to provide extensive support
and advice to patients in our closed
Facebook group and used the BAD
Guidelines for managing patients with
vitiligo to provide standardised advice for
our members to enable them to access
primary care, shape their treatment and go
