Section D Achievements and performance The trustees have considered the general guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission and has taken due regard of that guidance. The trustees consider that they are satisfied that the charity's activities do benefit the public as the trustees have increased spirituality among Muslims via regular spiritual and religious counselling sessions. The trustees also advanced Islam by sponsoring the Islamic education of 175 pupils in India via support for Islamic Seminaries. Summary of the main achlevements of the charity during the year Section E Financial review The charity has a policy not to hold any reserves but to retain and fvrther raise sufficient funds for the charitable projects in the UK and abroad. During the period, the trustees secured income of £216,795 of which £37,750 was restricted and the rest was unrestricted. The charity had expenditure of £59,262, with grants being the primary expenditure totalling £57,000 (of which £12,750 was restricted grants). Additionally, interest-free loans of £25,000 were given to registered charities to support their appeal to run Islamic projects. The surplus of £132,533 for the period will be added to the funds held for the charity totalling £399,064 at the end of the period to further the aims of the charity by su ortin further institutions that are ali ned with its charitable aims.
