3

GIFTINGHUMANITY

The trustees are particularly vigilant about the risks associated with delivering humanitarian aid in conflict zones and high-risk regions. Strict due diligence procedures are in place to oversee volunteers, fundraisers, partners, and the distribution of aid. Trustees receive regular risk updates and, when necessary, GIFTINGHUMANITY consults external experts for advice and guidance.

Trustee Update

One of our trustees, Mr. Vali Adam Mahmed, has expressed his intention to step down from the Board after the end of this financial year due to his age and his ability to fully undertake the scope of work and responsibilities required.

He will be replaced by a new trustee who is capable of fulfilling the role and its commitments.

Bank Account Update

During this financial year, our bank account was temporarily frozen due to non-compliance with certain Charity Commission requirements, and the Charity Commission opened an inquiry as part of this process.

We have now fully addressed all matters raised, submitted the required documentation, and are compliant with all regulatory requirements. We have taken this as a learning opportunity,

strengthened our internal processes, and implemented improvements to ensure this does not happen again.

We are now in the process of reopening our bank account and look forward to resuming normal operations and continuing our work for the benefit of the community.

GIFTINGHUMANITY

The Activities and Achievements

– Food and Ration Distribution India

GiftingHumanity delivered food and essential rations to vulnerable families in India during the reporting period. The initiative was aimed at supporting low-income households, widows, elderly individuals, and families facing severe financial hardship. Rising living costs and limited income opportunities have left many struggling to meet their basic daily needs.

Through this project, carefully prepared food parcels containing staple items such as rice, flour, lentils, cooking oil, sugar, and other essential groceries were distributed to beneficiaries in underserved communities. The distributions were organised in a structured and transparent manner to ensure that support reached those most in need.

This intervention provided immediate relief to families experiencing food insecurity and reduced the burden of basic household expenses. For many recipients, the assistance ensured access to sufficient nutrition and stability during a difficult period.

GiftingHumanity remains committed to maintaining strong governance, compliance, and transparency standards while continuing to deliver meaningful humanitarian support to communities in need.

During the reporting period, GiftingHumanity implemented water support initiatives in Malaysia aimed at improving access to clean and safe water for vulnerable communities.

Access to clean water is essential for health, sanitation, and overall wellbeing. In certain underserved areas, families face challenges in securing reliable and safe water supplies. Through this programme, support was provided to help ensure consistent access to clean water for households in need.

The initiative contributed to improved hygiene standards, reduced health risks associated with unsafe water, and strengthened community resilience. By addressing this fundamental need, the project supported families in maintaining safer living conditions and enhanced overall quality of life.

GIFTINGHUMANITY

Financial Review

Principal Funding Sources

The charity’s main funding is generated through public donations. We follow a strict policy that guarantees 100% of each donation goes directly to the donor’s specified cause. As a registered charity, we can also claim Gift Aid on eligible donations from UK taxpayers. The extra funds from Gift Aid help cover our administrative costs, enabling us to maximize the impact of every contribution.

Reserves Policy

The Financial Statements were prepared for the 12 months ended 31 April 2025. By the end of the financial year, the charity had fully utilised all available funds on planned projects and the necessary running costs of the organisation. As a result, a minimal balance of £157 remained at year end. We remain committed to ensuring that funds are used responsibly and directly in support of our charitable objectives.

Statement of trustee’s responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustee’s Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with the applicable law of United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that year.

In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Approved by the trustee and signed on behalf of the board.

Independent Examiner’s Report

GIFTING HUMANITY

Independent Examiner's Report for the Trustees of GIFTINGHUMANITY.

Year Ended 30 April 2025

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of GIFTINGHUMANITY ('the Charity') for the year ended 30 April 2025.

Responsibilites and Basis of Report

As the trustee of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charity's Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent Examiner's Statement

I have completed my examination, I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material impact:

  1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as requested by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. The financial statements do not accord with those records; or

  3. The financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and contents of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an indepenedent examination.

I have no concerns and have not come across any other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

The only matter to note is that the charity’s bank account was frozen during the financial year as part of an inquiry raised by the Charity Commission. However, the charity is now fully compliant. I have observed significant improvements in the charity’s governance, compliance procedures, and adherence to the Charity Commission’s requirements.

GIFTINGHUMANITY

Notes to the Financial Statement

GIFTINGHUMANITY

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 APRIL 2025

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throughout the year and in the preceding year.

a) Basis of accounting

The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with: The Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic if Ireland issued on 16 July 2014 and with the Charities Act 2011.

The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102

b) Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.

Restricted funds are subject to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.

b) Incoming Resources

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income:

Voluntary income is included in the Statement of Financial Activities when receivable. Grants, where entitlement is not conditional on the delivery of a specific performance by the charity, are recognised when the charity becomes unconditionally entitled to the grant.

Investment income is included when receivable.

Incoming resources from grants, where related to performance and specific deliverables, are accounted for as the charity earns the right to consideration by its performance.

Gift Aid receivable is included in income when there is valid declaration from the donor. Any Gift Aid on donation is considered when received and is added to the general purposes fund.

Donated goods where provided to the charity are included in the financial statements at their fair value unless its fair value cannot be reliably measured, then the cost to the donor or resale value of goods is used.

The value for donated goods for the year ended in 30 April 2025 is £143 (2023: £2,728)

d) Resources expended

Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred.

Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary income.

Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.

Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory requirements of the charity and include the independent examination fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity.

Support costs encompass central functions and are distributed across the expenditure categories in the Statement of Financial Activities based on how the resources are utilized. Costs specific to a particular activity are allocated directly, while others are apportioned using an appropriate basis, such as staff time or estimated usage.
