Financial Review
Principal Funding Sources
The charity’s primary source of funding comes from public donations. We operate under a policy that ensures 100% of each donation is directed to the specific cause designated by the donor. As a registered charity, we are also eligible to claim Gift Aid on qualifying donations from UK taxpayers. These additional funds from Gift Aid help cover the charity’s administrative expenses, allowing us to maximize the impact of every donation received.
Reserves Policy
The Financial Statements were prepared for the 12 months ended 31 April 2023.
At the end of the financial year, the charity had a surplus balance of £15,731, and this was used to fund charitable projects due at the beginning of the next financial year and to accommodate operational expenses. The charity strives to utilize the funds it receives within the year they are donated, directing them to the projects that are most urgently needed around the world.

In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:
-
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
-
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP.
-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements and;
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
