The Activities and Achievements

Food Distribution part of Food Banks Projects

In March 2025, Giftinghumanity, in partnership with Care to Feed and Mezmin Malida, distributed 215 hot, freshly prepared meals to Rohingya refugees living in Matbari Charpara, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. This initiative was part of a continued effort to support vulnerable displaced communities facing ongoing hardship and food insecurity. The meals were distributed with dignity and care, ensuring that recipients were served with respect and compassion.

The project was successfully implemented on the ground by the Rehbar Foundation, who managed local coordination, logistics, and volunteer support. Giftinghumanity extends its sincere gratitude to all partners and local teams who made this humanitarian effort possible.

Food Distribution at Syrian Camps.

Giftinghumanity, in partnership with Al Imdaad Charitable Trust, conducted a vital food distribution initiative in Syria, delivering essential food parcels to elderly and vulnerable refugees. This effort was specifically aimed at supporting those who are most at risk—individuals who often struggle to access basic necessities due to age, health conditions, or displacement caused by ongoing conflict.

Each food parcel contained carefully selected staple items to help meet daily nutritional needs and bring a measure of comfort and dignity to recipients during difficult times. The distribution was carried out with compassion and cultural sensitivity, ensuring that aid reached those who needed it most, in a manner that upheld their dignity.

Each of the 815 parcel was carefully prepared to meet essential nutritional needs and delivered with care and compassion.

The hot meals were freshly prepared and thoughtfully served, ensuring that each child received a nutritious plate of food to fill their stomachs and lift their spirits. More than just a meal, the experience created a moment of connection, joy, and humanity for children who live without the everyday comforts of family and stability.

This initiative reflects Giftinghumanity’s ongoing commitment to serving those in need, especially children who face life's hardships at a young age. By addressing immediate needs like hunger, the charity continues to nurture hope and resilience in communities that need it most.

Principal Funding Sources

The Charity’s main funding sources are donations from the public. We have a policy whereby 100% of the donations received go to the specific cause mentioned by the donor. As a registered charity we are entitled to claim gift aid on eligible donations from taxpayers. The funds received on account of gift aid contributes towards the administration cost of the charity.

Reserves Policy

The Financial Statements were prepared for the 12 months ended 31 April 2022. At the end of the financial year, the charity had a surplus balance of £32,314, and this was used to fund charitable projects due at the beginning of the next financial year and to accommodate operational expenses.

The charity strives to utilize the funds it receives within the year they are donated, directing them to the projects that are most urgently needed around the world.

Statement of trustee’s responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustee’s Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with the applicable law of United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that year.

In preparing these financial statements the trustees are required to:

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throughout the year and in the preceding year.

a) Basis of accounting

The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with: The Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic if Ireland issued on 16 July 2014 and with the Charities Act 2011.

The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102

b) Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.

Restricted funds are subject to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.

b) Incoming Resources

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income:

Voluntary income is included in the Statement of Financial Activities when receivable. Grants, where entitlement is not conditional on the delivery of a specific performance by the charity, are recognised when the charity becomes unconditionally entitled to the grant.

Investment income is included when receivable.

Incoming resources from grants, where related to performance and specific deliverables, are accounted for as the charity earns the right to consideration by its performance.

Gift Aid receivable is included in income when there is valid declaration from the donor. Any Gift Aid on donation is considered when received and is added to the general purposes fund.

Donated goods where provided to the charity are included in the financial statements at their fair value unless its fair value cannot be reliably measured, then the cost to the donor or resale value of goods is used.

The value for donated goods for the year ended in 30 April 2022 is £7,293

d) Resources expended

Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred.

Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary income.

Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.

Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory requirements of the charity and include the independent examination fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity.

Support costs encompass central functions and are distributed across the expenditure categories in the Statement of Financial Activities based on how the resources are utilized. Costs specific to a particular activity are allocated directly, while others are apportioned using an appropriate basis, such as staff time or estimated usage.
