Structure, Governance and Management
Wake Up and Help was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 29
November 2016 with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity
number 1170447.
The principal address of the organisation is:
909 Eastern Avenue, Ilford, Essex IG2 7SA
The charity is governed by its constitution, which outlines how it operates and how decisions
are made.
The Trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and
to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to mitigate those risks.

The Trustees confirni that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the
guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
Objects and Activities
Wake Up and Help is established for the public benefit in the UK and Indi￿ with the
following charitable objectives:
l. The advancement of education in Indian culture and heritage, arts, crafts, music and
language.

2. The prevention or relief of poverty by providing grants, items and services to
individuals in need and/or charities or other organisations working to prevent or
relieve poverty.
3. The relief of sickness and the preservation of health through the provision of
financial assistance, support, education and practical advice.
4. To advance the Hindu religion through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures,
public celebration of religious festivals, and by producing andlor distributing
literature on Hinduism to enlighten others about the faith.
Significant Activities in 2024
During the year ended 31 December 2024, the charity continued to calry out activities
supporting its charitable objectives, including..
Operating a book bank, providing literature on Indian culture and heritage to the
public, with continued growth in use.
Organising free food distribution to support homeless and needy individuals.
Distributing warm clothing and blankets during the winter months to vulnerable
people in London
Strengthening Collaborations with local charities, community organisations, and
members of the public to extend the charity's reach and impact.
Supporting community education projects aimed at preserving Indian arts, music,
and language heritage.
Held community gatherings in the Redbridge area to serve elderly
Financial Review
Unrestricted funds may be used in accordance with the charity's objectives at the discretion
of the Trustees.
Total income received: £232
Total Expeniture £360.00
There were no funds in deficit at the year end.
The Trustees consider the fmancial position of the charity to be stable and appropriate for its
level of activities.
Trustees, Responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the charity operates in accordance with its
governing document, complies with charity law, and uses its resources effectively to achieve
its charitable aims.
