The pandemic impacted on many of our group activities in the early stages of lockdown. With careful management we have been able to introduce various activities back to site. We now have two areas of allotments, which remained full throughout 2020. These have provided a safe environment for local families and individuals during the lockdown period. The Family Afternoon event took place as usual in February and was very well attended. All subsequent family events were cancelled due to the potential large number of attendees. Despite the schools closure, the AHDB potato growing project (GYOP) initiated by the school gardening club, was completed in June, with the help of one of the club members, who assisted with the harvesting. This is important work (to be completed in 2021) to sustain a large population of frogs and newts and associated birds and insects. There is nowa fully equipped workshop on site which allows us to produce a range of woodwork including raised planters, and furniture. These have been made available to local residents as well as improvements to the site. Additional volunteers provide support through the administration of the charity In total we had 58 volunteers on site during 2020 (excluding trustees) contributing a total 3960 volunteer hours. In 2020, donations included 200kg potatoes, 49kg apples, 34kg tomatoes and 27kg cucumbers. Voluntary Sector Innovation Fund: Providing opportunity to link with other community groups. Limited progress due to covid.
