## **Report of the Elder and Deacons – East Dulwich Tabernacle Baptist Church** The elder and deacons here provide their report and the audited financial statements for East Dulwich Tabernacle (“The Tabernacle”) for the year ended 31st December 2024. Administration, Structure and Governance The Tabernacle is an Independent Particular Baptist Church, founded in 1877, now established by its legal constitution of June 2015 and a registered charity since November 2016 (Charity Number 1170385). The Elder and Deacons are elected by the Church and are responsible for its leadership. Elder: Mr D Cadapen (Minister) Deacons: Mr S Boghurst (Treasurer) Mr P Cane (Secretary) Mr D South ## **Objectives and Activities** The objective of the Tabernacle is the advancement of the Christian faith, the nurture of God's professing people and the benefit of the public through religious and moral education, and pastoral care, of children and young people. The Tabernacle has a membership of 23 adults, and Sunday morning services consist of approximately 80-90 people including children. The Church consists of a diverse congregation with many different backgrounds. An evangelical Sunday School takes place weekly, which comprises of both children of members and those unattached to the Church, with parental consent. Local children are collected and taken home, using three Church minibuses. Those who attend on Sundays also take part in a Friday youth club, where they engage in activities and games which precede a talk, following a termly topic. Special outings and parties are arranged throughout the year for the different age groups. ## **Achievements and Performance** The East Dulwich Tabernacle online presence continues to grow, with over 420 subscribers to our YouTube channel. We have also been able to make improvements to our church building including new carpets, lights and a new keyboard to assist our worship. We added to our young people’s ministry with a new College Class for schoolleavers and university age students focusing on cultural issues and more detailed Bible study. Additionally, we took a number of our Bible and College Class youngsters to the Dalesdown Residential Centre, near Horsham, for three days of activities and special talks provided by Creation Ministries International. We partnered with Salem Baptist Chapel, Peterborough and Providence Baptist Chapel, Chichester for the trip and 30 young people in total were in attendance. Our Friday Meeting for young people continues to be well attended. In September, we were able to hire the Sports Hall at Alleyn’s school for a Senior Boys’ meeting. We have had opportunities to engage in street-evangelism on numerous occasions over the year at locations such as East Dulwich Station, Forest Hill, Camberwell Green and Sydenham. Our door-to-door work, which takes place every Saturday afternoon, has also been fruitful with new people attending services as a result. We have also had opportunities to reach out to the asylum seekers who are residents at Barry House. We have held fellowship outings to Swanley Park in May and Battersea Park in August as well as several Seniors Fellowship lunches throughout the year. We have also had opportunities to minister to the residents at the Elms care home. We have been able to support other ministries, including the donation of £3,000 to the London Auxiliary of the Trinitarian Bible Society, and a £500 contribution toward the care of two orphans in Ghana. ||**No (if any)**

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## Independent examiner’s statement I have completed my examination.
