OBJECTIVES AND A￿1VITIEs
Haemorrhage after Childbirth Foundation Is a charlty started by 5 doctors14 obstetricians and a GPI in
London who were Interested reducing maternal morbidlty and mortality from obstetric haemorrhage In all.
countries.
The aims of the organlsat5on Is the advancement of education and training of healthcare personnel on
aspects of diagnosis, prevention and surgical and non-surgical management of obstetric haemorrhage and to
include the provi5i9n of basic equipment and training materials.
We a150 einphaslze the Importance of non-technical skills or "human factors" Ifor example.. situational
awarene55, leadership and teamwork, communication, ergonomic5 and checklistsl as a crucial part of
Management of obstetrlc haemorrhage, which complement5 the technical aspect5 already mentioned.
We work wlth healthcare'professlonals from developing and developed countries providing a "training the
trainers" programme, so that they themselves can subsequently support and traln thelr colleagues in
preventlon a5 well as medical and surglcal management of postpartum haemorrhage.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
This has been a busy year for Haemorrhage After Childbirth Foundatlon IHACFI with activitles back to pre
COVID levels.
Trustees Waslm Lodhl and Wai Yoong conducted RCOG certified Basic Practical Skills COLtrses in May and
October 2022 whSch Benerated income for the charity. In September 2022, HACF delivered a Human Factors
tralnlng course for senlor midwifery students of Middlesex Unlversity at their14endon campu5 Wlth Bood
feedback.
In October 2022, trustees Wal Yoong and Wasim Lodhl were invited to lead an International Massive
obstetrlt Haemorrhage tourse at Sulaiman Al H3bib Hospital in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for
obstetricians. A hands on training course on third degree tears was also conducted whlch produced Income
for Haemorrhage After Childbirth Foundation.
Lastly, iri February 2023. trustees Wal Yoong and Wasim Lodhl were speakers and facilitators for a Massive
Obstetric Haemorrhage study day at Al Khobar in KSA 24-25 Feb 2023.

The charity continued to run practlcal courses throughout the year turnlng over £19,840 which was It's maln
source of Income. It also recelved a £200 donation from the North Middlesex Hospital.
The charity tries to malntaln low overheads as far as possible and thls allowed It to record a net proflt of
£4,963 during the year, increasing the reserves of the charity accordinglv.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Haemorrhage After Childbirth Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation whose only votlng
members are its charity-rustees, as detailed in its constitution.
The ftrst trustees were a?polnted for a term of 5 years.
There must be at least three trustees. Apart froni the first trustees, every trustee rnu5t be appointed by
resolution.
Charlty Trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective
administration of the charity.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that dlsclose with reasonable accuracy at
any tlme the flnancial p.osition of the charlty and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements
ompjy with the Companies Act 2006. The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
charSty and hence taklng reasonable steps for th¢ prevention and dètection of fraud and other irreEularitie5.
The above report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to
the small companies reglme as set out in Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 and in accordance with the
Charltles SORP IFRS 1021.

The financial statements have been prepared In accordance with Attounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffective I
January"20151 (Charities SORP IFRS 10211, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and thè Companies Act 2006.
