## FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2023 

## Responsibilities of the Executives: 

The Constitution requires the executives to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the situation of the association at the end of the year and of the surplus or deficiency for the year ended. 

The members of the Committee must also prepare the financial statements on ‘going concern Basis’ unless it is inappropriate to presume that the association will continue in business. 

The executives are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the association, and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 1985.  The executives are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the association, hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities. 

## GOVERNING DOCUMENT: 

The association is a charity organisation. It is operated under the rules of its memorandum and articles of associations. 

It has no share capital and the liability of each member in the event while he/she is a member or within twelve months after he/she ceases to be a member, to contribute such sum not exceeding ten pounds (£10) towards the payment of the debts and liabilities of the Association incurred before he/she ceases to be a member, and of the cost, charges and expenses of winding up, and the adjustment of the rights of the contributories among themselves
