Polish Church House of Life

Annual Report

Year: 2024/2025

## **Introduction**

The past year has been a season of many valuable initiatives and shared experiences for the Polish Church House of Life. With gratitude, we reflect on the blessings and progress we have seen in our community life. Our mission continues to be clear: to nurture faith, strengthen fellowship, and preserve Polish cultural heritage among Poles living in the United Kingdom.

## **Library Development**

An important achievement this year was the further expansion of our parish library. The collection continues to grow and has become a vital resource for our community. By providing access to Polish literature, the library supports not only education and spiritual growth but also the preservation of the Polish language for future generations. It is now a place of learning, exploration, and cultural connection for both adults and children.

## **Monthly Gatherings**

## Film Screenings

Once a month, members of our community gathered to watch episodes of The Chosen. These screenings were followed by thoughtful discussions, which provided a platform for reflection on faith, personal life, and the meaning of the Gospel message in everyday circumstances.

## **Bible Study**

Alongside with the film screenings, we held monthly Bible study sessions focused on the Gospel of Mark. These studies deepened our understanding of Scripture, encouraged spiritual growth, and gave participants the opportunity to apply biblical principles to their daily lives.

## **Weekend Guest Events**

We had the privilege of welcoming distinguished guests who enriched our community with their knowledge and experience:

**Ryszard Krzywy** led the session How to Care for Your Spirituality While Living Abroad, addressing the challenges of nurturing faith in a foreign environment.

Professor **Wojciech Gajewski** delivered a seminar on The History of Christianity, providing valuable historical insights and context that illuminated our understanding of the Church today.

**A. Zielińska and G.Michaczow** , specialists in psychological and spiritual care, led sessions that offered encouragement, support, and practical guidance for those facing personal challenges.

## **Social and Cultural Events**

## **Christmas Celebrations**

As in previous years, our community came together for Festive gatherings, which served as an opportunity to share in Polish traditions. These celebrations strengthened the sense of belonging within our community and ensured that Polish customs are passed on to younger generations.

## **Gatherings for Women and Men**

Recognizing the diverse needs of our members, we organized dedicated events for women and men:

- Men’s gatherings combined sport (table tennis) with meaningful conversation and fellowship.

- Women’s meetings over tea created a welcoming environment for sharing life experiences, offering support, and building deeper relationships.

## **Conclusion**

Looking back, this year has been a testimony to the strength and resilience of a faith-cantered community. Each initiative – from library development and Bible studies to guest lectures and festive celebrations contributed to the spiritual, cultural, and social life of our members.

Through the dedication of many individuals, House of Life continues to nurture faith, strengthen bonds, and preserve Polish heritage in the United Kingdom. As we enter a new year, we do so with hope and anticipation, trusting that together we will continue to grow and build a thriving community, guided and sustained by God’s grace.
