FINANCIAL REVIEW
We are experienciNJ an overwhelming outyouring of support from the public
during the current epidemic, from both individuals and organisations. With food
supplies low and a¢￿sS restricted, particularly at the beginning of the crisis,
many individuals chose to donate their money to us . instead of food. We know
that, as a result, we have seen an unprecedented level of financial donation8
coming into both our bank account and Just Gtving page resulting in a total
income of £108,953.
The expenditure was £25,698. The gain {£83,255) needs to be used wisely in
areas supporting our ethos. It is antici
needed to keep our food stocks high Eated a large amount of the balance will be
r the anliapated Influx of people requinng

Arnold Foodbank Èxists for the provision of emergency food parcels and allevlatlon of
poverty for those living in and around the NG5 area of Nottin8ham.
As we entered our 8th year of operation we encountered our biggest thallenge as we faced,
with the rest of the country, the thallenge of Pandemic and Lockdown. Providence meant
that the unprecedented quantity of donations we had received during the Christmas 19
period meant we were had a level of stock in place that enabled us to respond quickly to the
needs we faced and support other local or8ani5atlons with their response. Thls Included
Gedling Borough Council who were first point of contact for most vulnerable people.
Our mode of operatlon had to change quickly to respond to a reduced number of volunteers
(many were vulnerable so had to isolate) and drlvers had to be found to accommodate the
deliverSes we now had to do.
Supermarkets, businesses and organisatlons {alon85ide the local community) responded
quickly to our needs. Partnerships quick￿ built up between other foodbanks and providers
as we shared resources and information.
Our bi88est threat was hav¢n8 Insufficlent space for the quantity of food. Daybrook Baptlst
Church supported us In mana8ln8 thls by allowln8 U5 to use more of thelr storage areas and
unused rooms.
Following 8uSdellnes, updatin8 rlsk assessments, keepln8 dlents. volunteers and staff safe
wa5 a constant challen8e. We managed to go through the whole year wlth no cases of Covld
amongthe team.
Flnanclal donatlons- as can be seen in our Treasurers report- rose dramatlcalty. Thls
meant we were able to pay part time salaryto our manager and a deputy. We were able to
update equipment and purchase any extra cleanlng equlpment that was necessary.
It also 8ave us an amazin8 cushlon to start plannln8 forward. Respondin8 to lrfe afterlwlth
Covld and the support of people as they recover and start to bulld their lrfe up a8ain,
especially those who have suffered with Mental Health Issue5 durin8 this tlme.
We antlclpate that donations wlll be returnin8 to a more normal. pre-pandemlc, level In
21122.
In total we provided 2725 food parce15 in 20121. These fed 6113 people. ThaY5 a total of, at
least, 61,130 meals. 2434 of these were children. The number of food parcels was
comparable to the previous year, but the number of recipients rose by @500. Most of these
extra people were single person households.
We10st one Trustee in the year as Rachel Newcombe stood down.
We must pay tribute to our volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout, adaptlng to the
new system5 and helping to maintain a calm supportive atmosphere.

Accounting records have not been kept as required by section 130 of the Act,
or
The accounts do not accord with Ihose records, or
The accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements COn￿rning the
form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports)

I have no cOn￿rnS and have come across no other matters in connection with the
