All trustees have read the guidance on public benefit issued by the
Charity Commission and have considered this guidance when exercising
any powers or duties to which the guidance was relevant.
During the eighth year of Friends of HCUK'S operations. we were able to
achieve our objectives through the following activities-
Distributing the Harvard Prize Book to 200 UK secondary schools
for them to award to a student in the penultimate year
Conducting 28 school presentations to broaden awareness of US
University education
Funding attendance to the Fulbright Commission's USA College
Day
Continuing to fund the "Study in the USA" newsletter which
reaches over 2,000 students, teachers & parents
Organising volunteers to support a charity in London to serve food
to the homeless
Organising a Virtual Charity Hackathon by bringing together a
number of Harvard Alumni to support a charity they were
struggling with. The charity. 'Their Voice" is dedicated to
supporting families and individuals who have faced the horrors of
modern slavery and human trafficking
Organising the Winter Supply Drive to raise over £16,000-worth of
supplies for unhoused guests at the Harvard Square Homeless
Shelter. Donations included warm clothing. blankets. hygiene
products. and other winter essentials

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The funds raised by Friends of HCUK in previous years continue to allow
it to pursue its goal of promoting the option of a U.S.-based university
education for students in the United Kingdom for at least the next 10
years.
The key achievements of Friends of HCUK over the past year were as
follows:

Marking the 12 consecutive year of the HCUK Outreach
Programme, delivering 30 outreach events over the course of the
year
Distributing the 136th issue of our "Study in the USA" newsletter,
which has over 2,000 subscribers
Expanding the Harvard Prize Book to a further 5 schools
Breaking the record for the number of visitors to the Harvard
College stand at the USA College Day - 652 visitors over two
days
Raising over £16.000-worth of supplies for the Harvard Square
Homeless Shelter
