Report of the Trustees Quarry Gospel Hall Trust For the year ended 5 April 2025 The trustees present their report along with the financial statements ofthe Charityfor the year ended 5 April 2025. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accountlng policies set out on page 11 and comply with the Trust Deed and applicable law. Structure, Governance and Management Governing Document The Charity is an unlncorporated trust constituted by a Deed of Trust dated 27 May 1980, most recently amended by Deed of Varlation dated 30 December 2014. The trust was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 16 November 2016 under Charity Registration Number.. 1170199 Recrultment and appointment of newTrustees The Trustees who have served during the year and since the year end are set out on page 3. None of the Trustees, nor any person connected with them. received any remuneration from the Charity in the yearended 5 April 2025. Trustees were reimbursed for expenses during the year ending 5 April 2025 totalin8 £1,478 {2024: £5531. The Trust operates one Gospel hall and Trustees are chosen from among the regularcongregation ofthe hall, New Trustees are nominated by the ex15ting Trustees or by the congregation and must be appointed by unanimous resolution of the congregation. They are selected according to theirskills and experience and are expected to use both in furthering the oblecls of the Charity. Checks are made to ensure the Trustees, eliEibility to act and incoming Trustees are made aware of their responsibilities by the exlstlng Trustees, who ensure that new Trustees read the Trust Deed and relevant Charity Commission guidance. Wider Network The Trustees maintain informal links with similar charities with a view to pooling experience considered useful in pursuing the objects of the Charity. The Charity also maintains particular linkswith Exeter & Honiton Gospel Hall Trust with which it shares members of its congregation. Risk Management The Trustees have Identified and reviewed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and confirm that they have established systems to manage and mitigate those risks. Objectlves and Actlvlties Objectives and Aims The charitable purposes of the Charity are the advancement of the Christian religion forthe public benefit, including by the carrying on of the service of God in accordance with the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible as followed bythose Christians forming part ofthe world-wide fellowship known as the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church Ithe"Breihren°l and any other charitable purposes connected with Brethren. The core dortrille of the Brethren and proper practices in furtherance of certain aspects of doctrine are summarised in two schedules to the Trust Deed. Public Beneflt The Trustees confirm that they have complied with thelrdLFty under section 4 ofthe Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance to charitie5 on public benefit. Reportof theTn55tees Main activities and achievements The Trust provides and maintains one Gospel hall where religious meetings are held bythe local Brethren community. Detalls of the origins, teachings and way of life of the Brethren can be found on the website- www.plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch.org and in the schedules to the Trust Deed. During the year, the tnjst purchased land on behalf of Exeter and Honiton Gospel Hall Trust in view of developing a gospel hall In the near future. Plans for future periods Despite the Increased cost of energytr the tnjstees feel that these increased costs are not significantly Impacting on the ability of the ch3rity to continue as a going concem. The Tiust has agreed to provlde lund5 forthe con5tructlon of a new gospel hall for Exeterand Honiton Gospel Hall Trust. Further details on this planned conslruction are disclosed in the Reserves Policy. Meetings Meetings held at the Gospel halls include the Lord's Supper ICommLtnion), Gospel prea¢hing5. Blble readings and Bible addresses, There Is a structured weekly schedule ol meetings and, dependlng on the partlcul3r meetln& between 25 and 300 people normally attend these occasions. The meetings are attended by the regularcongregation and most are open to other properly dlsposed visltors. The notice board outside the Hall welcomes visitors and displays the times of Gospel preachings, along with a telephone number for those seeking further informatlon or help. Gospel tracts, whlch are dislrlbuted by street preachers, a150 dlsplay this information, Bibles and an extenslve range of other chrlstian readlng material are on display at the halls and visitors are free to help themselves. Spreading the Gospel message and the life of a Christian The Gospel halls are a base from which the regular congregation and others who attend the meetings are encouraged to spread the Christian Gospel. in word and deed. Members ofthe tongregatlon partlcipate In a programme of street preaching and Gospel tracts are provided free of charge by the Charity to such preachers to be handed out to interested members of the public. Reportof iheTrustees Funding Funding is sought through Eift5 from the congregation and Gift Aid is claimed on eliglble donations. Funding is sometimes received from other charitable trusts with complementaryobjectives. Financial Review In the year ended 5 April 2025 the Trust had a surplus of incoming resourcesover resources expended. Total voluntary Income recelved thls year was £277,753 compared to £119,851 in the prevlous year. All funds held were unrestricted funds. Reserves Policy The Trustees have consldered the level of reseNes they wish to retain, approprlateto the charity's needs, based on its slze and the level of its financial commitments. The Trust has no employees and its regular oulgoings are minlmal. During the financial year, Quarry Gospel Hall Trust purchased land on behalf of Exeter and Honiton Gospel Hall Trust in view of building a new gospel hall. All costs assoclated with the constructlon of this gospel h311 for Exeter and Horbiton Gospel Hall Trust wlll be covered by Quarry Gospel Hall Tiust Sn the near future. Funds are currently being accumulated to tover the cost ofthis proposed constructlon. ACCOUNTING POLICIES 1.1 Basis of financial statements The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014, and incorporating update bulletins l and 2, and the Financial Reporting Standard appllcable In the Unlted Klngdom and Republlcof Ireland IFRS 1021 and UK Generally Accepted Accountlng Practice. QUARRY GOSPEL HALL TRUST PUBLIC BENEFIT & OUTREACH 2025 One of the Trust's principal activities that furthers its objects is providing a facility for the coordination of 'outreach' work into the wider community. The Trust has maintained its outreach activities and this report includes some of the things we have been engaged in. Members of the congregation, acting under the direction of the Trustees and with their full and active encouragement. have continued with the 'outreach' work which they have carried out for manyyears. Gospel tracts and literature available from the Gospel Hall The Trust maintains a display of gospel tracts, literature and Bibles at the principal Gospel Hall and this fact is advertised on the sign board at the street entrance. Street preaching and tract distribution Street preaching has been actively promoted by the Plymouth Brethren for many years and today is enthusiastically supported by members of the Quarry Gospel Hall Trust congregation as we seek to follow the example set out by our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke ch 4 v 17-20.) We have a preaching every Mondayto Friday in the city centre with at least 2 preachers on each occasion preaching and handing out gospel tracts. Members of the congregation have continued to hand out tracts and Bibles to neighbours and people in need when they have met them. Also, during the year some members of the congregation assisted the Rapid Relief Team Charity in the following work: During March we supported the'multi Agency, event at CrealyTheme Park, the annual 'Big Sleep Out, at St James Park where we served a very welcome Bacon ROLI & coffee to those who braved the night out in the open, and the'men's Walk'for Hospiscare down by the river Exe.

REIIE We served 240 ice cold bottles of water and 7 boxes of bananas at the CLyst St Mary sports day to keep the athletes and supporters nourished and watered. We then supported the Children's Hospice South West Cycle Event with a water stop which was hugely appreciated in the sweltering temperatures. IL.'in JG. '1 .hSI I.

In Septemberwe provided breakfast and lunch for an exciting'multi agency, event at RM Chivenor. We supported the A & E appreciation week at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital with Coffee & Cake for our dedicated NHS workers. During October we supported the'Hospiscare Firewalk, at Bicton College serving a full Burger mealto approx. 150 volunteers who supported this very noble cause. 111 li

Also, duringthe yearwe donated 400 snack packs and 301 Smarrt bars. Further plans for 2026-we shall aim to maintain and increase our outreach activities through the coming year. We are open to suggestions from the congregation which we will review and then put forward for approval at one of our regulartrustee meetings.
