The Management Committee present their report for the year ended 30 June 2024.
Structure, GovernarKe and Managemert
The Rotary Club of GIOU￿ster ()Jays re￿ived its charterfrom Roiary Inlemational in 2009 and applied
for charitable slakns in 2016. It is govemed in accxJrdanc£ wilh li8 ITUSI d(￿rnent and a￿OrdInglY has
appointed a Management Committee k) assist the trustees in overseeing its operations.
Objectives and Activities
As a dub within Rotary in GIoU￿Ster. Ihe charity runs fundraising events and assists o¢hef organisations
in doing so. The frjndsare donated k) otherlo(xl. nalional and intemational charib'es. In addition. funding
is allocated to the supportof indivlduals whose acttvities are to Ihe bettern￿nt of a section of the local
community.
The Charity organised a number of events which were primarily for the purpose of fundraising but in
addib'on, brought together different 5edions of the local community.
In 2024, these induded The Gloucester Beer Festival. The QOU￿ster 10k run and a Comedy Night.
A total of£64.503 was raised from activities during the year from such events.
Public Benefft
The Management Commiitee has considered the Charity commi￿on'S guidan￿ on public benefi( in
planning the activities undertaken by the Rolary Club of (Jouosler lJJays. Each ffinancial year. the Club's
Presidentselects a local, national and intemational charity as the Club's nominated Charities for Ihatyear.
In addition. aid funding is provided lo as5islrelieflo partiwlarevents ordisasters ocojring during the year.
A list of Ihe charities, organisabons and indvidu21s benefilling from donations in the yearare delailed in
no￿ 4 of the accounts.
In 2024, the Club made donations kjtalling £36,920. Funds from one eventwere received post year end
and fijrther donations were made following receipt. The beneficiary re￿Iving the most significant
donation was the James Hopkins TrusL
The Trustees consider Ihal the Rotary Club of GIOU￿ster ￿ayS meets Ihe public benefit requirement and
(xjnfirms that it has taken intrj accountthe In￿)[rr￿tion conlained in Ihe Charity commi￿on general
guidance on public benefit.

Financial Review
The charity consider5 Ihal it should maintain a minimum of £5.000 in cash resep4es at any point in lime.
This enables the Club b fjnance events being organi5ed kjr fulure dates as well as having sufficient to
respond to a particular disaster appeal. The Club has mainlained Ihis level of reserves throughout its
operakn'ons in Ihe year.
Fund raising and other activilies have significanlly irrproved on earlier years wilh a very active and growing
membership within the Club.
The Club is justiffiably prDud of the level of donations it has been able to make to worthwhile causes
which highlights the benefits of indviduals worktng togethertowards ￿MmOn cause.
