The Board of Trustees of Ileso Welfare Associatioft {IWA-UKI a charity Incorporated
Organisation ICIOI hereby submits their annual report for the year ending as specified
above. The trustees confirm that the annual Report and the financial statements of the CIO
compty with the Up-t￿date statutory requirements, the requirem&nls of the Charity's
Constitution and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice ISORP)
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued 2015.
Soon after The AGM of January 2019, the new Board of trLtslees embarked on an ambitious
programme of putting in place lools and programmes which could support the Charity's
vision. The Board of Trustees set on a rethink project ir¢ order lo firstly,. produce a five year
Strategic Plan which was successfully accomplished in June 2020, despite the challenges.
The Board of Trustees was also able to Identify programmes that would fvrther the
objectives of the Organisation. To that effect, the following programmes were created a$ a
start.. Sexual and reproductive health, Long term health conditions such as diabetes,
hypertension, Cholesterol, obesity. cancer, prostrate, sickle cell, glaucoma, etc, Mental
health, women, children and the elderly, gender inclusion, ¢ar@ in the community, widows
and widowers, history and Gullure, sport5, environment and education.
After the start of whal was hoped to be the beginning of a year increased developments,
The Board of Trustees noles with great regret that the Charity's activities were heavily
impacted by the surge of the global pandemic ICovid-191 together wilh the aotivities of many
instilutior¢s. All the oganisation's activities were suddenly brought to a halt due to the
restrictions that were put in place., restriction to travel, association, work, soc121ising and
many other acb"vities excepl for brief exercise in isolation that was deemed necessary,
shopplng and work where it was impossible to work from home.
Th8 Board is saddened to note that this epidemic has resulted in the loss of Ilves within our
community. The Board's condolences to all the bereaved families and all those affected- loss
of employment resulting in hardship, isolation, mental health problems, violence and
increased use of drugs and alcohol.
The Board of Trusteeg note that the organisation is facing many immediate and long lemi
challenges. 11 is therefore with this in mind that the Board is relentlessly searching for new
initiatives of Working and engaging with all its stakeholders with the hope of making sure
the organisation continues fulfilling tts objectives.

The Trustees have reviewed the reserves policy and Consider it prudent lo keep sufficitint reserves, not
invested in tangible a55els and unrestricted, lo enable il lo meet 118 current liabilities as they fall due.
Thi5 will be kept as a minimum cash reserve in the ¢haiitls accoun15 and will be reviewed annually.
Risk mana9ement
The Trust88s hava assessed the major risk to which the charity is eXPOS8d. in partI￿lar those
relating to the operations and finances of the Charity, and are satisfied that systems are in place to
mitigate its exposure to the major risk.
Statement of Trustses. responsibilities
The Charrties Act requires the Board of Trustee8 to prepare financial slalernenls for each financial
yearwhich give a Irue and fair view of the stale of affairs ol the charity as at the end of the financjal
year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those finanaal statements the board is
required lo-

The Trustees are also responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and whi¢h are sufficient lo show
nd explain the Charit's transactions and enable them to ensure the financial statemènts comply with
fegulth'ons made under the Charity's Act. Théy are also iesponsible for saleguarding the assets of the
Charity and hence for taking reasonabfe steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and olher
Iregularilies.
Tha Trustees are also ￿sponsible for the contents of the Trustees. r8POrt. and the responsibility of
the independent examlner In relation lo the Trustees. report is limited to examining the report and
ensuring th81, on the face of the report, there are no inconsistencias with thé figures disdosed in the
financial statement.

The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The acccxJntlng policies have been
applied consist8nUy throughout th8 year and the preceding year.
1.1 Basls ofprèpara*on
The financial statements of the charty, which Is a publ1¢ benefit enty'ty under FRS 102. have been prepared
in accordance wth the Charities. SORP IFRS 1021 'Accountyng and Reporting by Charties. Statement ol
Recommended practice. applicable to charities preparing account5 in awoidancg with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 effeclwe 1 Janijary 2015,
and the charit￿s Acts 2011. The financial statement have been prepared under the hi51ori¢al co81
¢onvention.
1.2 Cashflow
The Chaity has taken advantage ol exemption in FRS1 from the requirernenthot to produce a cashflow
statement because it is a small charty.
1.3 Income
All incomes ale included in the 5taletnent of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and
the amount can be quantified with rea50natAe accuiacy. The following specfic poliGies are applied to
particular categories of income.
Voluntary income is re￿iVed by way ol grants, Lknnatlons and gifts and 18 Ineluded in full in the
statement ol fi'nancial activities when receivable. Grants where entitlement is not condib.onal on thè
the delivery of 8 specific performance by the charty. are recognised when the charty becomes
unconditiwally ent￿ed lo the gr8nl.
Donated &eNi¢e$ and facilit*s are included at thè value to the charty where this can be quantffied.
The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included.
Grfb donated for resak are induded as incoming Tesoure¢s within ath'mties for generating fvnds
when they are sold.
1.4 Exp•nditur•
Expendiure is recognised on an accrual ba515 as a liability is incurred. ExpenditLJre includes any VAT whieh
cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which il re18tes.
Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary inwrne 8nd the costs of
trading for fundraising purp05e5 including the charity's shop.
Charit8ble expendituie comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its 3clNities and
seniiGe5 for 118 bellefiGiaiies. It includes both costs that can be allocated direcuy to such activitles and those
costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated deprpciation. Depreciation is provided at rates
