FOR ADAPTING GAINSBOROUGH’S HOUSE AS AN ARTS CENTRE AND MUSEUM WITH SPACE FOR MEETINGS AND EXHIBITIONS OR OTHERWISE;3. FOR COLLECTING WORKS BY THOMAS GAINSBOROUGH RA AND ARTEFACTS RELATED TO HIM AND WORKS BY HIS CONTEMPORARIES, EAST ANGLIAN ARTISTS AND OTHERWISE (THE “COLLECTION”);4. FOR FURTHERING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ARTS AND TO ACHIEVE SOCIAL MORAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION IN THE ARTS BY WAY OF LECTURE CLASSES RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENTS OR OTHERWISE AS MAY BE FOUND EXPEDIENT BY THE GOVERNORS FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL PERSONS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF RACE SEX POLITICAL RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS HEREOF.

**Activities:** Gainsborough&#x27;s House aim is to promote the wider knowledge, apprecaition and enjoyment of the art of Thomas Gainsborough within the context of the eighteenth century and the inspiration of the Suffolk landscape and to preserve and enhance Gainsborough&#x27;s House and its collections for the benefit of present and future generations.
