FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024
The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to
the financial statements and comply with the charity's Memorandum and Article ofAssociatlon. the Companies
Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities preparlng thelr account5 in accordance with the Flnancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republi¢ of Ireland {FRS 102). (as amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 2018)
ObJe¢tlve$ and a¢tlvltlo5
The Charity's objectives are- The ¢hurGh advance5 the Christian faith via its services and groups which meet
throughout Ihe week. At its services the church give8 time to the preaching of the Bible and the central
Christian tenets of faith. During the week the ¢hur¢h has many sub groups whlch meet to study the blble and
to have fellowship. These are open to all who are willing to attend.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what actlvltle8
the charity should undertake.
Achlevements and performance
Our regular Sunday services are English speaking service and Bilingual 8ervice (Mandarin and Cantone88)
both at 11am.
Each year, LCCC holds al least 2 Bapiism services in June and December. We also hold at least 4 Trilingual
Services (English, Mandarin and Cantonese) a year, they are.. Easter Sunday seryice, Annual Mission
Conferènce, Christmas Sunday Celebralion service and Christmas Day service.
During the year, we saw the numbers of children attending our Sunday School increase espeGlally chlldren
from BNO families. We also prepare the older children to move up into the youth group.
New equipment has been invested. Donations continue to be at a sustainable level this together with the
support of members. We will ¢onlinue to monitor our financial position monthly.
We would like to thank all the volunteer who work so hard to make our church the lively and vibrant
community it is. In particular we want to mentions our Junior Church teachers and helpers who have worked
so tirelessly to nurture our next generation in their Chrislian lives and all other members of LCCC for their
valuable contrlbullon to our ministries and for keeping the church runnlng.
Flnanclal rovlew
Current cashbook and bank account Indicate the Church has sufficient funds. There are no creditors and the
Church receives stable offerings each month.
It Is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been de8lgnated for a specific use should
be maintained at a level equivalent to two month's expenditure. The trustees considers thal reserves at this
level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to conlinue the Gharity's
current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of
reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should

According to the Memorandum and Articles of Associatlon the number of trustees shall not be less than three
persons. All the trustees must be members of the Church. Any nomination of new trustees shall be made by
the Chuch and after vetting, Ihey shall be subjected to Ihe ratlfication by a majority of members attending the
meeting IAGMIEGMI. Those new trustees shall be elected by one half majorities of members attending the
m88tlng.
None ofthe trustees has any beneficial inter88t in the Company. All of Ihe trustee8 are member8 of the
company and guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.
The Company's Current policy concerning the payment of trade credltors Is to follow the CBI'S Prompt Pay8r8
Code (copies are available from the CBI, Cenlre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1 DU).
The company's ctsrrent poli¢y concerning the paymenl of trade creditors is to..
settle the terms of payment wilh suppliers when agreeing the temis of each transaction.,
ensure that suppliers are made aware of the terms of payment by inclusion ofthe relevant tems in
contracts., and
pay in accordance with the company's contractual and other legal obligations.
Trade creditors of the Gompany at the year end were equlvalent to 14 day's purchases. based on the average
daily amount invoiced by suppliers during the year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Leicester Chinese Christian Church
(the charity) for the yaar end8d 31 March 2024.

As the trustees of the charity (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are r8spon8ible
for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act
2006 (the 2006 Act).
Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the charity are not required to be audited under Part
16 of th8 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the
charity's finanGial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 Ilhe 2011 Act). In

Act 2006, for the year ended 31 March 2024. No member of the company has deposited a notice, pursuant to
section 476, requiring an audit of these financial statements.
The trustees acknowledge their responsibllities for ensuring that the charity keeps accounting reGord8 which
comply with section 386 of the Act and for preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the
state of affairs of the company as at Ihe end of the financial year and of its incoming resources and applicalSon of
resources, including its income and expenditure. for the financial year in accordance with the requirements of
Seclions 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply wilh the requirements of the Companies Act 2008 relating to
flnancial statements, so far as applicable to the company.

LeiGester Chinese Christian Church is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and
Wales. The registered office is 84 Clarendon Park Road. Le1￿$ter, LE2 3AD.
1.1 Accountlng convention
The financial statements have been prepared in ac￿rdanCe with the charlty's Memorandum and Article of
Association, the Companies Act 2006 and 'Accounting and Reporting by Charitie8'. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparlng their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)" (as amended for accounting
Periods commencing from 1 January 2016). The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charlly has taken advantage of the provislons in the SORP for charitles applyino FRS 102 Update
Bulletin 1 not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charity. Mon8tary
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial slalements have been prepared under the historical ¢08t convention, modified to include the
revaluation of freehold properties and to include investment properties and certain financial in8trument8 at
fair value. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Golng concern
Al the time of approving the financial stalemenls, the trustees have a reasonable expeclatlon that the
charity has adequate resources to continue in operatlonal exlstence for the foreseeable future. Thus the
trustees continue lo adopt the going con￿rn basis of accounting in preparlng the flnancial statements.
1.3 Charltable funds
Unrestrictèd funds are available for use at the discretion of the Iruslees in furtherance of thelr charitable
oblectives unless the funds have been designated for other purpos88.
Restricted funds are subject to specific ¢onditions by donors as to how they may be used. The purposes
and uses ol the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financlal statements.
Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the
charlty.
1.4 Incoming resources
Income is recognised when the Charity is legally entitled to it after any perfomiance conditions have bean
met, the amounts can be measured reliably. and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been
notified of the donation, unless perfOrrnan￿ conditions require deferral of the amounl. Incomè lax
recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of ¢ovenant is recognised at the time
of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending
distTibution, the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known. the legacy is treated
as a contingent asset.
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable and represents amounts
receivable for goods and services provided in the nomial course of business, net of discounts, VAT and
other sales related taxes.

1.5 Resources expended
Liabilities arise from legal or Constructive obligations that commit the charity to
expenditure. A liability and related expenditure must be recognised when all of the
following criteria are m8t'.
Obligation - a present legal or constwctive obligation exists at the r8POrting
date as a result of a past event.
Probable - it is more likely than not that a transfer of economic benefits,
often cash, will be required in settlement.
Measurement- the amount of the obligatlon can be measured or
estimated reliably
A legal obligation arises when a charity enters into a binding contract or there is a
statutory requirement to make a payment. When a charity enters into a contract for the
Supply of goods or services, expenditure is recognised once the supplier of the goods
or services has performed their part ofthe contract
A constructlve obligatlon arlses as a result of a charity's actlons wthen It Indicates
to other parties that it accepts particular responsibilities and thereby creat8s a valid
expectstion on their part that the charity will me81 them.
1.6 Tanglblo fixed a88ets
Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuatlon, net of
d8precialion and any impairment losses.
Depreciation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets le88 their re8idual values over
their useful lives on the following bases..

The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the dIffe￿nCe be￿een the sale
proceeds and the carrying value of the asset. and is recognised in net incomel{expenditure) for the year.
1.7 Impalmient of fixèd assets
At each reporting end date, the charity reviews the carrying amounts of its iangible assets to determine
whether there is any indicalion that those assets have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication
exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment
loss (if any).
Intsngible assets with indefinite useful lives and intangible assets not yet available for use are tested for
impairment annually, and whenever there is an indication that the asset may be impaired.
1.8 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid
investments with original maturities of three months or less. and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are
shown within borrowings in current liabilities.

1.9 Flnancial instruments
The charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Financial Instruments. and Section 12
'Olher Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the charity's balance sheet when the charity beGomes party to the
contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when
there is a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an inlention to settle on a
n8t basis or to realise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
Baslc financial assets
BasSc financial a88et8, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initlally measured at
transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortlsed cost using the
effective inter8St method unless the arrangement Constitutes a financing transaction, where the transactlon
is measurèd at the present value of the ftjture receipts discounted at a market rate ot interest. Financial
assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Baslc flnanclal Ilabllltles
Basic financial liabilities. including creditors and bank loans are initially recognised at transactlon prlce
unless the arrangement constitules a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the
present value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified
as payable within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amortised cost, using th8 èffective Interest rate method.
Trade credltors ar8 obligatlons to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course
of operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as Current liabilities if payment is due within
on8 year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially
at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
Derecognltlon of flnanclal Ilabllifies
Flnancial liabilities are derecognised when the charity's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled.
1.10 Employee benefits
The cost of any unused holiday entit16ment Is rettignised in the period in whlch the employee's services
are received.
Terminatlon benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the charity is demonstrably
committed to terminate the employment of an employee or to provide termination beneflts.
Critical accountlng estlmates and judgements
In the application of the charity's accounting policies, the trustees are required to make judgements,
estimates and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent
from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on hi5tori¢al experience and
other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The estimates and undertying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that
period, or in the period of the revision and fvture periods where the revision affects both current and future
periods.
