True Jesus Church Cambridge (TJCC)
Aim and purposes
The TJCC has the responsibility of co-operating with the UKGA and UKGA assigned preachers, Preacher Johnny Liu and Raymond Leacock, in promoting the whole mission of the church.
Objectives and Activities
The Objectives of the charity are to advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statement of faith.
When planning our activities for the year, the TJCC has considered the Commission’s guidance on public interest and, in particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. In particular, we try to enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of our church community through:
-
Worship and prayer, learning about the Gospel, and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus.
-
Provision of pastoral care
-
Missionary and outreach work
Achievements and Performance
Worship and Prayer
A full-service schedule between 11:30am and 3:45pm continued from Q4 2024 to end the financial year in Q3 2025. In addition to the Summer and Autumn Spiritual Convocations, there were ten pastoral visits throughout the year.
Pastoral Care
Our volunteers routinely organised family visits to members that were not able to attend church service or those who requested visitation. In addition, church members organised additional visits on the Sundays and weekdays when the UKGA preachers visited. Members also provided meals and fellowships on Saturday evenings for youths. We maintained regular Religious Education classes on Saturdays and online midweek, and organised lunch fellowships for Religious Education students. We held weekly Friday evening online fellowships.
Mission and Evangelism
Evangelical events were held regularly in 2024-2025, with 20 truth seekers coming into contact with church members and joining services or evangelical fellowships.
Financial Review
Total receipts on unrestricted fund were £4,684.00. Restricted offerings received were £43,044 and are detailed in the Financial Statements. Income from Gift Aid was £6,678.88. A total of £31,831.29 was spent in the financial year.
The net result of the year was a surplus of receipts over payments of £24,732.64. Adding bank and deposit balances brought forward at the beginning of the year, the balance carried forward on 1[st] October 2024 on unrestricted funds and restricted funds totaled £231,807.42.
1
We thank the church volunteers for providing their homes for our routine and ad hoc services. We are grateful for the generosity of individual members and UK churches for their offerings and loans. In addition, weekly food and drink and transport costs were met by volunteers to such an extent that the expenditure of the church was kept to a minimum.
Structure, governance and management
The method of appointment of TJCC Trustees is set out in the TJC UK General Assembly By-Laws. All members of the congregation, subjected to conditions in the By-Laws, can stand for election to become TJCC Trustees.
The Trustees are responsible for making decisions on all matters of general concern including deciding on how the funds of TJCC are to be spent. Important matters require the approval from more than 66% of the membership via vote at General Meetings.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustee/members of the TJC Cambridge
Church Board
I report on the accounts for the year ended 30[th] September 2024 which are set out on pages 3 to 4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:
Examine the account (under section 43 of the Act),
To follow the procedures laid down in the Generation Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair” view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention.
- Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
To keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Acts; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Acts; have not met; or
- To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
