WILLIAM CROSS FOUNDATION Reg. No. 1170005 William's involvement in many musical activities and his popularity in his home town meant that his death had a devastating impact on not just his family and friends, but on a whole community. He was a House Prefect at Kingswood School, had formed his first band aged just 10, played in pubs, clubs and at events, and was an active member of the young Conservatives. Following an outpouring of public grief, and an immediate desire to do something in remembrance, Will's family and friend5 Started to organise collections and other fundraising ideas. Whilst the enthusiasm was tangible, there was a real and immediate need to exert some control and structure to the fundraising in order to protect Will's family and to ensure that there was a sound structure as Will's legacy developed. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Fundi'aising The development of the Foundation's social media (Facebook and Twitterl enabled us to promote the brand and raise awareness of the charity in a way which would have never been possible previously. www.facebook.com/williamcrossfoundation twitter.comlwillsfoundation A website has been created which in the future will provide the mechanism for eligible young people to apply for funding from our Grants Programme via an on-line applications process.
