Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

This year the centre provided a range of education programs, but also helped coordinate difference social and humanitarian programs for different notable organisation and charities.

The community at large has benefitted from such learning and experience, something the charity believes is key, especially as the attendees are from difference backgrounds ethnicities and culture, namely Iranian, Iraqi, Pakistani, Afghani and European origin.

Both Muslim and non-Muslim activities took place in the English, Farsi, Arabi and Urdu language.

Located within the heart of the Manchester University district, Manchester Islamic Institute continued to open dialogue with a number of students and provided facilities that included lunchtime and evening prayer and gatherings.

There was a clear continuation of religious celebrations, daily prayers, sermons, funeral services, weekly Quranic lessons and education talks conducted at het centre.

Even though the building occupied by the charity is actually owned by another registered charity based in London, Manchester Islamic Institute is classed as mutually exclusive but shares the same spiritual beliefs allowing the family and friends of all communities and religious beliefs to assemble together.

The pandemic has been a challenging time for the charity however it moved to a digital platform to continue to provide its services to the community along with online channels.

The charity has at all-times adhered very closely to government guidelines to reduce the impact of COVID 19 by continuing to maintain social distancing, wearing face masks and providing hand sanitation within the centre.
