- To promote social mobility and access to better life opportunities for students of African and Caribbean descent. 2. Although our services are primarily for the students of Black African and Caribbean descent, where there is spare capacity, Summary of the objects we will not exclude students from other minority ethnic groups of the charity set out in who are facing barriers to progression post-university. its governing document 3. The target group are students in higher education who feel that they are not given suitable opportunities to achieve their full potential. The hope is that as a result of our support these individuals will realise their true potential and become leaders within their chosen field
We have provided face to face and online learning opportunities for 91 people. 50 people have successfully completed level 2 Functional Skills with 20 continuing learning. 3 have successfully completed level 5 in health and social care at a local college and 9 continuing learning. 2 have completed level 3 in business and 8 have gained admission into local universities. We have successfully supported 1 person applied for settled status. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

We have successfully engaged 91 people in learning and supported 55 people to complete qualifications and 1 person to gain settled status.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
Connect Talent currently has no reserves. There are few fixed costs and particularly none associated with staff or premises. As the organisation develops it is our policy to hold three months reserves to provide some measure of security for the charity.
