SAFARI SIMBAZ CHARITY TRUSTEES REPORT – Year ending 31[st] December, 2024
2024 proved to be another exciting year for the Safari Simbaz charity. Key highlights include:

Our support to the Safari Simbaz in Kenya has continued to help fund youth training/education enabling them to learn discipline, teamwork, and resilience. They continue to build confidence and gain the required skills for adulthood.

Fundraising has been fairly stable throughout 2024 but sufficient to meet the annual requirement. The focus on our fundraising will need to be increased over the next couple of years while we endeavour to assist an increasing number of Kenyan youth.

Nick Bourne, a co-founder of Safari Simbaz Charity Trust (Europe), resigned from the trustee role during 2024 to focus on work & family. We thank Nick for the great voluntary work he has done for the charity and wish him the very best for the future.

Andrew de Rozairo & David Wood have joined as new trustees after being introduced by David Kinjah when they participated in a ‘Ride Africa’ cycling safari where some of the ‘Simbaz’ were assisting in the running of the event. Both Andrew and David bring excellent additional professional skills to our charity.
This year has seen the youth supported by Safari Simbaz engaged in a few more cycling related activities that gradually lead to them become more self-supporting through raising funds locally in Kenya.
The trustees look forward to ongoing fundraising and activities gaining further momentum towards expanding the number of youth we can assist.
