Aims and Objectives CREST (Compact for Race Equality in South Tyneside) is dedicated to advancing racial equality and enhancing the quality of life for individuals from diverse communities across South Tyneside and beyond. The organisation focuses on supporting those in need by facilitating access to education, training. and employment opportunities. Through these efforts, CREST aims to raise aspirations within the community and ensure that all voices are heard and represented. As a result of these objectives, CREST has implemented a range of projects that have not only delivered meaningful outcomes for participants but have also demonstrated strong value for money and significant social impact. The organisation remains committed to its mission of empowering individuals and fostering a more inclusive society. Achievements and Performance As Chair of the Board, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the outstanding dedication and hard work demonstrated by everyone involved during the April 2024 to March 2025 financial year. The management, including both the board and leadership team, together with all staff members, have continually worked to uphold the mission of the Compact for Race Equality in South Tyneside (CREST). Throughout this period, CREST has consistently delivered positive results, continuing a legacy of impactful achievements that began with its founding. These accomplishments have had a tangible effect, making a meaningful difference In the lives of many vulnerable Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities residing in South Tyneside. The collective efforts of the board, leadership, and staff have ensured that the organisation remains a source of support and empowerment for those most in need. Reflections on the Past Year Over the last year, CREST has experienced an exceptionally busy period marked by the initiation of several new projects and the involvement of new funders. Throughout these developments, our commitment to prioritising the needs, desires, and voices of our clients remained central to every aspect of our work. As our team expanded, the scope and volume of our activities also increased, allowing us to better serve our community. We are deeply grateful to the foundations and trusts thal have supported us during this time, providing both core funding and small grants that have enabled CREST to pursue and achieve its goals. Their generosity has been instrumental in sustaining our mission and ensuring that our services remain available to those who need them most. Despite the growing challenges posed by the rising cost of living which has had a considerable impact on our beneficiaries, ability to access services and has affected their mental health the CREST team has worked collaboratively and diligently. This teamwork has ensured the continuity of our services, reaffirming our commitment to supporting the community through difficult times.

Charitable Activilies and Achievements in 2024125 Throughout the year, CREST remained steadfast in its commitment to delivering effective services through the 'What's On. programme. This initiative consistently provided between 15 and 25 activities each week, not including a range of additional events and drop-in sessions. These offerings wer8 specifically designed to enhance the overall quality of life for individuals accessing our services. CRESTS holistic and intersectional approach to support resulted in a significant increas8 in our social impact, particularly for members of the BAME community. Our services prioritized a whole-person approach, supporting individuals in progressing their lives and personal developm8nt.11 has been especially rewarding to observe many service users improving their language and communication abilities, galning new skills and training, and building confidence and self-esleem. Many have become happi8r, mor8 grounded individuals with a strong8r sense of belonging, thanks to the quality training and support provid8d. The organisation also made considerable progress In establishing effective partnerships and collaborative relationships with a variety of organisations. These included Churches Together South Tyneside, Tyne & Wear Museums, Northumbria Police, Ocean Road Mela Consortium, Whist, Macmillan, The Phoenix Way, Mortimer Community Colleg8, The Customs House, Regional Refuge Forum, Northeast Refug8 Service, Groundworks, South Tyneside Council, Marine Park Children Centre, Inspire South Tyneside, Menlal Health Concern, Newcastle Building Society, the NHS, and others. These professional relationships greatly contributed to enhancing the reach and impact of our work. While the period of organisational growth and development following our succession plan presented challenges, the dedication and fesilience of the team enabled CREST lo progress from strength to strength. This resulted in the delivery of unique activities such as the Mela Festival and youth work initiatives. Now, two decades on, the organisation continues lo make a meaningful impact in the communitl8S It serves, as reflecled in the distinctive recognition and apprecialion received from b8neficiaries and stakeholders alike. The success achi8v8d this year is a direct result of Ihe hard work and dedication of our team. Th8 extraordinary progress made would not have been possible without their energy, commitment, and consistency in advancing our charitable aims and objectives. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank every team member for their invaluable contributions. During the year ending 31st March 2025 income totaled £441,73012024 - £262,782} and expenditure lotaled £361,68712024 £319,318) giving an overall surplus for the year of £80.043 (2024 deficit of £56,536).

General Information The charity is a public benefit entity and a private company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales and a registered charity in England and Wales. The address of the registered office is 95 Fowler Street, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE33 1 NU. 2. Statement of Compliance These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland,, the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Companies Act 2006. 3. Accounting Policies The principal accounting policies adopted, judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainly in the preparation of the financial statements are as follows: 4. Basis of Accounting 4.1 Basls of preparatlon The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to these accounts. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: statement of recommended Practice applicable in the UK the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective October 2019) - Charities SORP (FRS 102), the financial r8POrting standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2022 Compact for Race Equality in South Tyneside Limited meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102 4.2 Preparatlon of the accounts on a going concem basis The charity reported unrestricted funds at the year end of £58,409 and has already secured a significant amount of funding for the current year. The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. In making their assessment the trustees have reviewed and considered relevant information, including their annual budget and future cash flows. The trustees are of the view that the immediate future of the charity for the next 12 months is secure and that on the basis the charity is a going concern. 5. Income 5.1 Recognition of income Income is recognised when the charity has entitlement to the resources, any performance conditions attached to the item(s) of income have been met, it is more likely than not that the resources will be received, and the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability. 10

Compact For Race Equality in South Tyneside Limited 5.2 Grants and Donations Income from government and other grants, whether 'capital' grants or 'revenue' grants, is recognised when the charity has entitlement to the funds, any performance conditions attached to the grants have been met, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably and is not deferred. Income received in advance of the provision of a specified service is deferred until the criteria of income recognition are met. 5.3 Donated Goods and Services Donated goods are measured at fair value (the amount for which the asset could be exchanged} unless it is impractical to do so. Donated services and facilities are included in the SOFA when received at the value of the gift to the Charity provided that the value of the gift can be measured reliably. Donated services and facilities that are consumed immediately are recognised as income with the equivalent amount recognised as an expense under the appropriate heading in the SOFA. 5.4 Interest Recelvable Interest on funds held on deposit is included when receivable and the amount can be measured reliably by the charity,. this is normally upon notification of the interest paid or payable by the bank. 5.5 Fund Accountlng Unrestricted funds are available to spend on activities that further any of the purposes of the charity. Designated funds are unrestricted funds of the charity which the trustees have decided at their discretion to set aside to use for a specific purpose. Restricted funds are donations which the donor has specified are to be solely used for a particular area of the charity's work or for specific projects being undertaken by the charity. 6. Expendlture and Llabllltles 6.1 Llablllty Recognltlon Liabilities are recognised when it is more likely than not there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to pay out resources and the amount of the obligation can be measured with reasonable certainty. 6.2 Charitable Actlvltles Expenditure on charitable activities includes the costs of community activities and events and other activities undertaken to further the purposes of the charity and their associated costs. 6.3 Governance and Support Costs Support costs have been allocated between governance costs and other support. Governance costs comprise all costs involving public accountability of the charity and its compliance with regulation and good practice. Support costs are those functions that assist the work of the charity but do not directly undertake charitable activities. Support costs include central functions and have been allocated to activity cost categories on a basis consistenl with the use of resources. 11

Compact For Race Equality in South Tyneside Limited 6.4 Irrecoverable VAT Irrecoverable VAT is charged as a cost against the activity for which the expenditure was incurred. 6.5 Creditors The charity has creditors which are measured at settlement amounts less any trade discounts. 6.6 Provislons and Liabilities A liability is measured on recognition at its historical cost and the subsequently measured at the best estimate of the amount required to settle the obligalion at the reporting date. 7.
