The Foundation promotes the art of travel writing, particularly that concerning Hispanic and Latin American culture, notably through the awarding of grants and also by participation in relevant conferences and seminars. The main instrument is the award of the annual Michael Jacobs Grant for Travel Writing, and several travel writing workshops for budding travel writers have also been organised.
Objects: 1) To Promote The Art Of Literature For The Public Benefit In Particular But Not Exclusively By Sponsoring A Writing Award To Be Known As The Michael Jacobs Travel Writing Prize Thereby Promoting More Generally The Art Of Travel Writing And Writing Concerning Hispanic And Latin American Culture 2) For The Advancement Of Education In The Art Of Literature And Of Hispanic And Latin American Culture For The Public Benefit Through The Medium Of Travel Writing In Both English And Spanish Language In Particular But Not Exclusively By Means Of Supporting Grants, Awards, Seminars And Conferences In Relation To Travel Writing And Hispanic And Latin American Culture
