The purpose of the Charity is to oversee the running of the Gurkha Museum based in Winchester and this includes the preservation and maintenance of the Brigade Collection and the upholding of the traditions and ethos of the Brigade of Gurkhas.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are, For The Public Benefit: To Advance Education In Particular But Not Exclusively By The Provision Of The Gurkha Museum And The Preservation And Maintenance Of The Brigade Collection; And To Promote The Efficiency Of The Armed Forces By Upholding The Traditions And Ethos Of The Brigade Of Gurkhas And Perpetuating Its Deeds.
