Trustee’s Annual Return from 1st October 2019 - 30th September 2020
We are consortium of 5 independently managed Bowls Clubs which includes the Bexley Visually Impaired Bowls Club, we actively encourage new members from a wide range of abilities from people living in the London Borough of Bexley and surrounding areas.
We are not a profit making organisation with all our income being re-invested into the running and upkeep of 2 bowls greens situated in Danson Park, Bexleyheath which includes the clubhouse. The greens and clubhouse are owned by the council and leased to us with certain conditions. One of which is an obligation to the council to facilitate the public in using our greens
From 1st October 2019 to the end of April 2020 is our close season with no bowling taking place but the greens have still got to be maintained during that period for which we engage the services of a greenkeeper. Due to the pandemic bowling did not take place until around June 2020 when the various clubs arranged their own internal practice sessions. No other external matches took place. These were run under strict Covid 19 guidelines and these practice sessions finished around the middle of September 2020.
We managed to obtain a rates rebate of £10000 and a grant from Bowls England of £5500 together with our member subscriptions of £120 each boosted our income to over the £25000 threshold . This is a one off event and probably will not happen again. Our only other income is from other social and bowling activities. We do get an income by being registered as a charity from the Bexley Lottery. Please look at the attached link
