Aims and Organisation
The area of benefit is the Borough of Elmbridge and surrounding areas. Its objects are to educate the public
in the Dramatic and Operatic Arts, to further the development of public appreciatlon and taste in the said
arts, to organise and run Iraining courses to improve the ability and knowledgc or ils member% and the public
in general in the t¢clini¢al skills involv¢d in being part of such productions. and to assist and furth¢r such

seeking explanations from vou as trustees concerning any such matters. The

audit, and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a tru¢
and fair view. and the rcport is limitcd to those matters set out in the statcmeni below.

Introduction
As allowed by Section 42(3) of the Charities Act 1993, and as requested bji the Charity Commissioners, the
Trustees have prepared a Cash Flow Slatement for the period l January to 31 December 2024. an Income
and Expenditure Account for the financial year froni l January to .3 l December 2024, and a Balance Sheet
(Sthtenient of Assels and Liabilities) ai 31 Deceniber 2024. the financial year end. A copy ol the Accounts
and the report of the Independent Examiner are giveii later in this report.
Overview.
lil the year l Januarv to 31 Deceinber 2024, cash increased by £2498 and for the finanLial vear to 31
Dec¢mb¢r 2024 there was a profit of income ov¢r expenditure on an accruals basis of £1. I V3.
Income and Expenditure
The society prepares its aiiiiual accounts on a full accruals basis, so thal all inLome and expenditure is
recorded in tlie year to which il relates. The net108£ from production4 for the year 2024 wa.s £3.11 S, but
other income comprising subscriptions and donations (£6,173) and fundraising (£.),908), offset by
adminislrative Losts {£4,717).. resulied in an overall profit o1'£2,249, We have made a prior y'ear adjustmcnt
to reinove Gift Aid Recoverable of £1:146, so an adjusted overall profit of £1,103.

The Marjoric Moss B¢quest, donat¢d to be given to the P¢rform¢r in Ihe Society's productions who
has. in the opinion of the 8oLiety, made th¢ most significant improvemenl in Ilieir pcrformance above
those previously denionstraied. The current value ot'this fund is £5?5.
'I'lie Kar¢ii Aston B¢quest. donated to be used for the technical and artistic improvement of
mcinbLrs' skills, ThL current V¢ilu¥ ot'this lund is £6,302.
Accumulated Funds

Reimbursement

the Lost of cngaging externul clirection, and where ihe experience was considered a i'aluable element of
iinproving the skill8 nf those members for the future.
Gift Aid
I"he majority of the Society's income on which (lift Aid is recoverable relates to siibscriptions and
donati()n5. Cyift aid for previi)u.% N'earb still to be claimed.
Future
It is not considered at this stage fcasiblc or hclpful to providc a budget for the )'ear to 31 Deccmbcr 20?5.
Results depend on the popularity of the shows produced with the general public: who provide the audience
and thus over 900/0 ol. the revcnue of each show,, but budgets are produced for individual shows and are
5trictl)' controlled b), the Committee. Shows are only authorised fur Production where there is a g¢neral
expectation that the net ￿ndS of the Socicty V*'ill not be s¢riousl}' depleted.
