OUR GOAL AND ACTIVITIES:
YSFF eharity tn￿ is focused on ensuring adequ8te provision of social welfar¢ facilities fnr
recreational and leisure time occupation for disadvantsged young p￿pIC within Barkin8 and
Dagenham and in lar8e wvera8e of other local communities. Ow goal is to promote several
sporting prOj￿ts that will engender inclusivene&8 amongst the general publi¢ and the tar8et
communities.

forn￿1 education.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORWCE:
Young Stsrs Football First have continued to be affiliated with the Essex FA for the past 7
Y¢ars running. We registere416 (Six) of our teams in fi]11 participation in the Junior Football
league for the 2021r2022 season, this w&s an Increase of two t¢am3 from the previous yeat
when we registercd just 4 teams. This Wds a great acljievement as we continue to recover from
the effect of the covid. We started off the se&8on well on the pitc1¥ we had over 130 young
people participate in our projects with over 50 fi111 memberships. We were not able to organiz¢
any extra activities during th¢ year as il was increasingly hard to attract funding post covid. We
also had to terniinate / stop srecific roles we couldn't afford to ke¢p. We r¢mained focus on
th¢ most imwrLqnt part of why the organi72tion exists and ￿ntinlled to pn)vide a safe place
for young people in our community to congregate doing som¢thing ry)sitive. We also created a
lot of opporttmitics for volunteers to learn new skills and give back to the conmnunity.
ChArltable Aetfvities:
As always we have made our activities inclusive and mad¢ our pric¢s affordable for local
m¢mb¢r3 to join us. The nUmi￿r of ch8ritsble activities we were able to get involved in
remained cut drastically as the covid continu¢d to cause th¢ majority of the county io self
isol*e.

This program wasn't able to reslart due to lack of fimding available. In the previous years, this
progrdm has seen a lot of young people benefit from tsking part in its activitia5 thn)ughout
Barking & Dagenham.

This year. again thie to the effects of the pandemic we w¢re unable to host any summer camps,
we hope to get back ￿ the camps in the coming year.
Little Stars ])evelopn￿￿k Centre
This program has continued to flouris￿ we intend to expand on the succe&s of this pilot
Program. We believe with the rigbt n]theting in placc we will k able to achieve our desired
goals with this program.
Girls C4n Pthy.-
Wc Continued this progrdm this year but unfortunately the demand for this program h&sn't been
as 8ood as expected. We have decid￿ that this progrdm will ￿ stoppcd after over 3 years of
operation.
Publle benefits:
In setting out the Charity's objectives and planning of ￿tiVIti¢5 the trustees have given carefi
consideration to the Clwity commissions gener81 guidancc and section 17(5) of the Lharities
Act 2011. The trustees are confid￿t thai the services off¢red by the charity are of real and
praclical use to its local population, therefore complies with rcsponsibilities of a Chatity und¢r
th¢ Charities Act 2011 to d¢mon8trat¢ public IKnefits.
Futur¢ Plans:
In order lo achieve its objeclives, the Charity plans to ¢ontinue the activities outlined aE()ve in
the forthcoming years, this is subjKt to funding arrangements. The Charity has ￿s0 been
working on a ¢ommunity sport youth c¢nter project ovcr the l&st 4 years. The sport youth center
will see the great mix of facilitics in the cenicr for y￿70uS mix of the general public to enjoy.
We believe more investment Is necessary in grassroots swrts and wc ar¢ playing our part in
this by providing wonderful projects for the benefits of our community.
The aim of the Sport youth center is to incre&8e I￿rtiCIpatiOn in SEKJ¢ improve physical and
mental wellbeing. provide more oP￿rtunIti￿ for disadvantaged people in the community,
enabling them to access vital SKK)rt and educational activities. The center will host mor¢
community projKts that will dev¢lop skills for people out of work. ereating new job
opportuniiies, engage aod inspire local people io become volunte¢rs for local sports or
haritable organi74tions. The facility will also help provide a pathway for gifted and tslented
young people into elite 5FK)rt. Th ckwity intcnds to d¢liv¢Y new proj¢cts &8 it continues to grow
ycar on year.

activities. The trustees themselves app)int new trustees to the board and provide appoint¢es
with a full orientation on the services provided by the charity, the process of decision making,
the roles al￿ yeS￿nsibl11tieS of a trustee which illcludes their legal obligations under applicable
laws.

The trustees have examined the major operational, strategic and busin¢ss risks facing thc
harity and confimi that systems have ken established to ensure that rewrts are produced
regularly and that necessary steps taken on addre&sing these issues which may arise.

income for the y¢ar (£26,548) decre&8ed compared to thc previous year figur¢s (£13,575). This
was majorly due to activities being shut down and the failure lo attract funding this year.
However, expenditure (£26,816) a150 decre&8ed from the previous year. This has left the
organization strngglin8 to even this year.
The objective of havin8 unrcstsi¢t¢d fimds in [￿er¥¢, 18 to QLsure th¢ charity can cope with
unplanned events. Very often, the ¢ffects of an unplanned event can be managed in the long-
*tm, but th¢ charity needs reserves ID the meantime.
The dlrector8 must maintsin an overall target level for all reserves which 1$ equivalent to
threc Tnonths n¢t operatin8 costs. This will be over and ab)ve thos¢ r¢serv&% represented by
fixed assets on the balance sheeL
The directors acknowledge that the level of reserves Changes during the year and could
cithcr bc a good indicaiot of the undttlying financial health of the charity. or could be an
indicator of wtential problems.
Tbe dfirettors must monitor and review the level of reserves annually. in line with the
8uidanc¢ issued by the Charity Commi&%10￿ however, the level of reserves is monito￿1
throughout the year ￿ part the monitorins and bud6¢tary rcportill8 proccsscs.
The current level of unrestricted reserves is insufficient to meet 3 months of expenditure,
based on the figures to 31° July 2022. But n¢vertheles& we aim to continue building re8eryes
closer towards a level that ts equivaIent to 12 montlLS of expenditure, this will provide
stability within the chan.ty and reduce any risk of sbutiing down due to insufficient fimding
being available.
