On 12 Ottober 2016 the Morris Memorial Hall was registered as a
Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charities
commission. The old unincorporated charity (No. 304323) was
subsequently removed from the Charities Commission register.

Title to the Morris Memorial Hall is registered with HM Land
Registry, Title Number ON332024
Original copies of documents including historical deeds relating to
the previous charity, (No 304323) are now lodged with Crowdy &
Rose Solicitors, 2 Market Place, Faringdon, Oxon SN7 7HW.

The trustees have considered major risks and have a robust risk
assessment policy in place to address fire safety and hall use. The
trustees meet periodically and use a detailed building maintenance
plan to manage the upkeep of the hall.

The objects of the CIO are to estsblish and run a village hall and to
promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Kelmscott and the
surrounding area ('Area of Benefit,) without distinccion of se
sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, rdce or political,
religious or other opinions the provision of facilities for rec￿atIon
or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of
such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or
disablemenL financial hardship or social and economic
circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social
welfare and wlth the object of improving the conditions of lrfe of
the said inhabitants.

In addition to the benefits of learning through lectures,
encouragement of local craft through a weekly craft fair and social
interattion and leisure involving the whole village through social
events, the trustees aim to further strengthen community spirit and
encourage more people to take part in village hall activities by an
ongoing programme of community activities.
The trustses consider that the activities and achievements in the
area of interest that the charity supports demonstrate the benef
to its beneficiaries and through them to the public.

Achievements and performance
The hall has been used extensively throughout the year for weekly
craft fairs, a village ball. children's parties and two weddings. A
summer BBQ for village residents was held in the hall gardens
which was successfully attended.

General expenses including Insurance, electricity was continued to
be met.
The Hall is also used by societies with links to William Morris for
lectures.
Ongoing maintenance of the hall continues. The kitchen and toilets
have been repainted.

charity's pollcy on reserves
It is the policy of this charity to hold in reserves the equivalent of
one year's r￿ed and variable running costs and an amount to cover
any unexpected major repairs. We have thus set aside a total
reserve of £5,000. Trustees will review this policy at yearly
intervals.
