TRUSTES ANNUAL REPORT for the year ended 1[st] April 2021

The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 1st April 2021. The trustees have opted, under section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Charities Act’), to prepare receipts and payments accounts

Objectives and Aims

The objects of the CIO are to advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public through holding prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of Christian festivals and enlighten others about Christianity.

Summary of main activities

Central London Forerunners (CLF) is a Christian congregation based in Central London. Since its formation, CLF has continued to pursue its purposes of advancing the Christian faith for the benefit of the public. The aim is to show the love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed and to bring people into a closer relationship with him as living Lord.

This is achieved through the following activities:

  1. Holding weekly prayer, bible studies and worship meetings;

  2. Hosting "Relationship rooms" for group discussions on the complexities of relationships

  3. Homeless outreach

  4. Facilitating the celebrations of Christian festivals

Public benefit

The trustees have read and given due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. The centre in the Philippines is licensed and accredited and monitored by the Standards Unit of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippines to maintain high standards of care and safeguarding for children in need.

Achievement and Performance Charitable activities

In addition to our weekly gatherings and Sunday gatherings, we increased our online meetings on Zoom in order to encourage engagement, connection, participation and relationship building especially for the new people joining us. During the year the following also took place:

  1. We hosted prayer meeting on Zoom for people who had lost loved ones due to the pandemic and other issues called, “Comfort My People”.

2.. Care for our Camp - Our team grew with more facilitators coming on board to help with serving/looking after our Connect Groups which are our smaller community groups. This allows us to spend time getting to know each other outside main gatherings and to connect on a one-to-one basis.

TRUSTES ANNUAL REPORT for the year ended 1[st] April 2021

Financial review

Income for the year was £ 28,892 (PY 23,013), and expenditure £5,357 (PY: £16,512) leaving a surplus for the year of £23,535 (PY: £6,501)

Unrestricted cash reserves held at the year-end amounted to £34,792 (PY £11.257)

Reserves policy

The trustees have established a policy whereby the unrestricted funds not committed or invested in tangible fixed assets ('the free reserves') held by the Charity should be approximately three months of the resources expended. At this level the trustees feel that they would be able to continue the current activities of the Charity in the event of a significant drop in income.

Structure, Governance and Management Governing document

Central London Forerunners is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered on 12[th] October 2016.

The board of trustees meet regularly to discuss the work of the charity. New trustees are elected by the existing trustees to the board after nomination and interview.
