NEWARK ODINIST TEMPLE TRUST
TRUSTEES, ANI NUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2023 12024
The holy Odinist faith continues to be practised by individual members of the Odinist Fellowship,
by Odinists gathering in Hearths (or house groups), and by Odinists meeting at our, so far. only
Templ¢, that of Newark-on-Trent, which is nearing its tenth anniversary of consecration.
Membership continues to grow apace.
The nine festivals of the Odinist sacred year are observed by the celebration of sacrifices, known as
the Cup of Remembrance. When this takes place communally the ritual is followed by a discussion
which allows members to air their views and ask questions and develop their understanding by
Iistening to their peers.
Weddings and Namings of infants have tsken place according to Odinist rites throughout the
country.
The study of the Odinist mythlore and runelore continues with enthusiasm by members, new and
old alike. The Yule rites havc been attended by more carol singing than previously. Young
members are being trained better.
Although few, a small number of Odinists in prisons continue to Teceive Odinist contact from the
Director. which is of much value to them in helping reduce their isolation. It is hoped that a
chaplaincy service will grow both for prlsoners and for hospital patients.
The open days at the Newark Odinist Temple continue to attract many visitors. both those of the
faith and many more from the general public, and it offers a way of showcasing the religion, while
reconnecting members of our folk with aspects of their ancestral. cultural and spiritual heritage.
