geochemistry of flints found in our
area in collaboration with staff from
the British Geological Survey and are
actively researching the possible
sources thereof.
2. 52 volunteers engaged with
fieldwork, giving 288 days of time, in
the spring of 2024. We conducted
geophysical survey in conjunction
with the Bradgate Park Trust and
Leicestershire Fieldworkers to map
the below ground deposits in the
area between the Late Upper
Palaeolithic campsite and Bradgate
House. A full report has been
submitted to Historic England and the
Archaeological Data Service.
3. In conjunction with the Lithic Studies
Society, we hosted a day meeting to
display flints from two Late Upper
Palaeolithic sites and conducted a
site tour around Bradgate Park.
4. We shared our research with the
wider public through numerous
printed works including Mercian
Geologist, Lincolnshire History &
Archaeology, Retford Life and the
Charnia Newsletter.
5. The charity is managed by a board of
Trustees who have had regard to the
Charity Commissioners guidance on
safeguarding and public benefit. The
finances, which are considered
satisfactory, are carefully controlled
but did not, this year, require an
independent examination.
6. We continue to engage with other
charities with sites known to have
