Trustees Report for the Year Ending 31st December 2024
The Charity has not traded or undertaken any significant work to further any charitable aims in the year to 31st December 2021. This is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
The charity is effectively in dormant status. Informal discussions have taken place during the year with trustees to see if the project could be resurrected. The need to provide services outside of statutory provision is greater than ever. The economic crisis deepens for those most vulnerable and in need of mental health support services. That said, the pathways to begin provision of services are even more darkened due to the same economic crises. Local authority and health budgets ar more stretched than ever, schools are struggling, food banks are telling us they are struggling to fill baskets for those most needy. The energy crisis is starting to really hit home and the prospect of further cuts to public services in the coming years, at least in real terms are looming large on the darkening horizon. There is simply not the funding in the system to support start up services that don’t meet the very highest primary goals in health. NHS and GP services are at breaking point and whilst the need for our services is ever increasing, the resources to support it are not there.
We will continue to discuss potential opportunities to “resurrect” the project over the coming months, but we would be entering a system that is facing significant uncertainties itself.
