- - Cheltenham Powerchair Football Club Annual Report 11.10.2023 to 10.10.2024
Aims and objectves.
Cheltenham Powerchair Football Club aims to provide a club which facilitates recreational and competitive powerchair football opportunities for people with a physical or learning disability. We are determined to continue growing as a club, being able to provide specialized powerchairs, equipment, coaching and support for people with disabilities in Gloucestershire.
The club is committed to providing a development pathway within the county and facilitating participants of all ability levels
Actvites and achievements during the year
As a club we are proud of what we have achieved this year. We have been able to continue delivering weekly sessions along with the addition of further bonus sessions on both the adults and children’s side of the club.
We have competed in both the National Premiership and Southwest Powerchair Football League.
In the last year we have seen another increase in our participation numbers across both our Friday evening and Saturday morning development sessions. This has once again increased the quality of the sessions we are delivering and has provided more opportunities to deliver more sessions. We have also seen the entry of more teams into competitive competition over the last year because of the growth in numbers across the board of our club.
We have also managed to see an increase in volunteer numbers over the last year at our sessions which has been key to facilitating the growth in participation.
We as an organisation had more social meets to help further the social opportunities that comes along with the club which was a key aim of us leading into the year.
Future plans
As an organisation, we also aim to continue the growth of our volunteer base, upskilling volunteers and ensuring the club and committee very much remains the core of players and parents/carers, so they can help to guide the club forwards.
We are looking in the next year to have another team compete at the national level demonstrating the growth in our players over previous years.
