Cheltenham Powerchair Football Club – Annual Report - 11.10.2021 to 10.10.2022.

Activities and achievements during the year

As a club, we are proud of all our work during this period. We managed to get all the competitive and development players all back participating in regular sessions, which was the first time we had been able to since the pandemic. We have also expanded our provision, taking on new volunteers which has enabled us to increase the capacity of the sessions, with new participants. We have continued to offer powerchair football for all participants, inclusive of all abilities, ages, and economic

backgrounds. We are competing in the National Championship, the West Midlands League One and

we also have

some development players taking part in some development days at the Southwest competition. We have recently just held our first social event since the pandemic, and we are looking forward to increasing the scope of these events to ensure our beneficiaries can experience both the physical and social events.

Aims and objectives.

Cheltenham Powerchair Football Club aims to provide a club which facilitates recreational and competitive powerchair football opportunities for people with a physical or learning disability. We are

determined to continue growing as a club, being able to provide specialized powerchairs, equipment, coaching and support for people with disabilities in Gloucestershire.

The club is committed to providing a development pathway within the county and facilitating participants of all ability levels.

Future Plans

Our main aims, especially for the next accounting period is to ensure we can support participants to thrive and develop in a safe, friendly, welcoming, and social environment. We are now aiming to provide more social opportunities, to go alongside our physical activity offer as this benefit our participants and their families significantly. We also aim to have teams competing across 3 different leagues, which will enable us to have a competitive team for every ability and ensure we are creating and offering as many opportunities as possible for our participants. As an organisation, we also aim to

grow our volunteer base, upskilling volunteers and ensuring the club and committee very much remains the core of players and parents/carers, so they can help to guide the club forwards.
