(c) to promote and maintain relationships with all persons and organisations interested in the furtherance of The Centre. (d) To do all things deemed to be charitable in furtherance of the above objects. The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and have overseen the following activities: **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** - 1) Cellar Café now Cegin Hedyn – Following last year's changes the café operated as a canteen style pay what you can (from £0 upwards) café with a vegetarian based menu using produce largely donated by local suppliers. This has had increasing success and served approximately two and a half thousand meals during the year only opening on one day a week with a possible expansion in 2024. The financial cost of living crisis meant that there was an upward trend in the number for free meals supplied, The cafe also runs a Community freezer from which frozen meals are supplied. The change in the cafe operation has focussed on meeting local needs which has resulted in a reduced level of surplus income to support other charities from previous years. Decisions on the distribution operation of this lower level of available monies were postponed to 2024. - 2) Christmas Day Dinner – Following on from the operational changes to the café a free vegetarian Christmas Day Dinner was provided on the premises using the regular weekday service format. Approximately 100 dinners were provided along with a number of take-away meals - 3) Offered space for the local bereavement counselling services to use when needing a neutral confidential environment in which to operate. Following the easing of pandemic restrictions this facility offer was re-activated. - 4) The Centre has seen the use of the warm safe space for outside organisations helping with wellbeing issues including a team supporting families with autistic members. - 5) Fresh Start project designed to assist people in crisis situations by providing everyday essential living items such as bedding and crockery and cleaning items has continued after a lull during the Covid pandemic. ## **around Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** **TAR** March **2012** 3 You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## Section D ## Achievements and performance **TAR** March **2012** 4 ## Section D **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** ## Achievements and erformance p - 1) Cellar Café/Cegin Hedyn – Following the service changes and facilities outlined in Section C above, delivered around 2500 meals of which about 600 were served free of charge. - 2) Christmas Day Dinner following the changes outline in section C above, approximately 100 dinners were provided along with a number of take-away meals for housebound and frail people. - 3) Local wellbeing groups, including those supporting families with autistic members have been supported and accomodated.
