BURTON SALMON VILLAGE HALL

TURSTEES AGM TBD VILLAGE HALL 12.3.2025

Chairmans Report: Sarah foster

We welcome our new trustee, Rebecca Raine, a resident of the village for a number of years and parent to children attending the local school - Rebecca will be a great asset to us.

The new floor in all entry ways and the main room too is a great improvement. This project completed in march 2024 has brought more bookings, and some lovely comments. By far the biggest boost is the WIFI which ws installed in August 2023.

The management Committee events were Christmas lights on and carol singing. The summer fayre and dog show held at North Lodge 2[nd] June brought a great crod and huge success for the management committee. The wether was fantastic which surely helped. The Quiz which is still a very popular event for us, and the Thursday Coffee club and tuesday friendship café is more popular than ever.

The sale of the hall to the Parish Council is moving forward with agreement from the Charities Commision as long as the hall is still used in the same way, and the Methodists have no objection as long as the overage cluases are transferred to The Parish Council . This is good news all round. It secures the asset for the community going forward. I understand that trustees will still be needed, and of course a management committee to organise events. This will be looked into by the Parish Council in consulation with the North Yorkshire Council. We will need the navigate a no doubt torturous route to get over the finish line with the sale/transfer to the parish council.

Thank you to everyone who has helped to organise grants, events, or just turn up to help in the hall, we are very grateful for any help, and it all goes to improving the community for the community.
